Personal Log #5 - Action

[Spock gasped into consciousness and trembled at the biting cold. It took him a moment to realize that he was no longer on a metal, unforgiving examination table... but instead laying down in what felt like... snow. Fascinating.

His senses were completely off. The current date and time eluded him due to the number of occasions he had overcome to unconsciousness in the Malnosso's care...

Normally mental orientation would not be a problem...

...However, his current state of blindness left much to be desired.

He slowly stood, categorizing his physical condition, and found that his body was not cooperating as it should... he had to lean against a tree to retain balance. He ached all over. The Malnosso appeared curious towards his Vulcan physiology.... and went to great lengths to discover what they could. Spock shivered again as he recalled what they did to him. They had started with his fingers... running tests that involved pain tolerance and sense range.

They left the brain for last. Spock was successful in keeping them out of his Katra, a mental landscape containing his links...protecting what stability and bonds that he had left after his planet's devastation. However, it was his efforts in the end that now left him blind. In their enthusiasm, the Malnosso did not realize the extent of Vulcan stubbornness, so when threatening him with his eyesight did not work... they soon lost interest.

That left him in his current state.

Concentration was... difficult at the moment. There was too much pain. His Katra called out in an attempt to help him, but he did not know how successful that was. In the interim, Spock assumed that he was back in Luceti and started to walk forward... sensing the trees around him to use them for support.
He hoped someone would find him soon... He was without his uniform, and left once again in only a pair of pants. This cold was quickly becoming too much for his Vulcan biology to withstand.]

[Feel free to meet Spock wandering, blind, and cold. He's out in the woods currently, but he'll eventually make it somewhere near the village. Enjoy~]

And that -- right there -- was probably why we got along. I'm a girl who needs a whole lot of non-judgement in her life, some days. Most days.

[ and with a tentative peace settling over the moment, she loops her arm once again around spock's. he's cold; she needs to help him. soup, she thinks. warm soup will do the trick.

but she'd be a liar if she didn't admit to herself that spock's...characterization didn't leave a nostalgic twinge in her chest. she and jim are so very in the past. she has a new captain, now. but it doesn't mean she doesn't miss him. ]

I take that as a compliment, by the way. Being much like your Captain.

...Ah. [ she sounds ever so slightly like a young child caught with her hand in the cookie jar. ] You've met Jack. Of course...of course you would have met Jack. He, uhm --

[ is there a gentle way to say it? something that doesn't smack too much of sentimentality? ] I met Jack shortly after your Captain first left Luceti. The infatuation is mutual but I'd try not to put too much stock in what he said about me. He's embarrassingly biased.

Well, I don't know if I'd call him my mate. I mean -- I'm his first mate but that's not a love-thing. That's a boat-thing. And I kinda feel the title's mostly honourary. And...

[ a sigh. ] Sorry. You're absolutely right. Mates? Should think highly of each other. It's nothing but depressing when they don't.

...Sounds like you're talking about something a little more dire than a chocolate binge -- [ she thus prompts him to continue speaking, slyly alerting him to the fact that -- yes, she does know about the chocolate thing. ]

Witnessed it myself, actually. Last time. Long story. And--

[ she stops to let him speak. a soft intake of breath. ] Shouldn't you maybe...tell the second person? Wouldn't that be most fair?

Aaaand if I now tell you it's not fair to not tell him about your past...linkage? I become queen of the hypocrites for not telling him about ours.

Still -- that's gotta be awkward.

[ she opens the door, nudging him gently inside. ]

It's been nice re-meeting you too, Spock. At least -- I'm guessing that's what you're trying to say, under all that fuss. Promise me you'll take care?
