Personal Log #5 - Action
[Spock gasped into consciousness and trembled at the biting cold. It took him a moment to realize that he was no longer on a metal, unforgiving examination table... but instead laying down in what felt like... snow. Fascinating.
His senses were completely off. The current date and time eluded him due to the number of occasions he had overcome to unconsciousness in the Malnosso's care...
Normally mental orientation would not be a problem...
...However, his current state of blindness left much to be desired.
He slowly stood, categorizing his physical condition, and found that his body was not cooperating as it should... he had to lean against a tree to retain balance. He ached all over. The Malnosso appeared curious towards his Vulcan physiology.... and went to great lengths to discover what they could. Spock shivered again as he recalled what they did to him. They had started with his fingers... running tests that involved pain tolerance and sense range.
They left the brain for last. Spock was successful in keeping them out of his Katra, a mental landscape containing his links...protecting what stability and bonds that he had left after his planet's devastation. However, it was his efforts in the end that now left him blind. In their enthusiasm, the Malnosso did not realize the extent of Vulcan stubbornness, so when threatening him with his eyesight did not work... they soon lost interest.
That left him in his current state.
Concentration was... difficult at the moment. There was too much pain. His Katra called out in an attempt to help him, but he did not know how successful that was. In the interim, Spock assumed that he was back in Luceti and started to walk forward... sensing the trees around him to use them for support.
He hoped someone would find him soon... He was without his uniform, and left once again in only a pair of pants. This cold was quickly becoming too much for his Vulcan biology to withstand.]
[Feel free to meet Spock wandering, blind, and cold. He's out in the woods currently, but he'll eventually make it somewhere near the village. Enjoy~]

[Action]
[Konan is mindful of the wings in particular but doesn't push hard on his body anywhere just in case the Malnosso were extra rough in their studies on his anatomy.]
Re: [Action]
Can I assume that you are... a ninja? [Spock appreciates the slow pace and the care that Konan is taking to ensure his safety....
...and this was surely an interesting experience.]
[Action]
[She'd be more surprised, except there were others from her world here long before she ever was. It's reasonable to think that someone might have talked about chakra at some point. When they reach a bumpier area with minor trip hazards, she lets him know to lift his feet up a little more by nudging upward with the makeshift paper coat.]
Re: [Action]
Would you be amenable to explaining your specific power? [Spock will always be the scientist, wanting to know everything...]
[Action]
[It's not the same as sharing all of her secrets, after all.]
It relies on chakra - life force energy. There are techniques to mold the chakra to produce various effects, and my specialty is paper based techniques. The chakra is why the paper has some warmth to it and can block more wind than ordinary paper.
Re: [Action]
This was rather fascinating.]
When you refer to 'life force energy'... does applying this power draw upon your actual life? In other words, by exceeding your power limit, can you die? [In his mind, Spock was comparing the phenomenon of Chakra to the energy life of a phaser... there was always a limit.]
[Action]
[She pauses. Konan isn't about to share how much chakra she personally has, but she can share another tidbit of information about chakra in general.]
Most people are more likely to lose consciousness from depleting their chakra well before they're at risk of dying.
Re: [Action]
And how is it that you are able to discover your specific skill-set while learning your abilities? How do you know what element or source you are drawn to? [Even blind and hobbling, Spock will always be curious....]
: [Action]
There are a few methods...some of it is the skill-set one chooses to develop, and some of it is figuring out where one's natural talents lie.
[In some cases, that wasn't in the use of chakra techniques, but rather in hand to hand, or in making traps or poisons.]
For learning what element one is most closely linked to, there are special papers that react to a person's chakra and will have one of five possible responses. A person may learn techniques using other elements, but there will always be one they have more of an affinity for than others.
Re: : [Action]
...This was most fascinating.]
Perhaps... when I have my sight once more, you would be amenable to giving me a demonstration of your abilities? I find myself most curious.
[Action]
[She'll probably keep the demonstration to some of the skills she's more open about using, simply because she's a person who likes to keep her more impressive skills a secret.]
Re: [Action]
[Spock 'sensed' the house...] I believe that we are nearing my home... the door should be unlocked. [No that that would be a problem if it was...]
[Action]
[And once they arrive, Konan walks ahead to open the door before gently ushering Spock in. She glances around, looking for anything sharp that might be hazardous to him while he's adjusting to his lack of vision.]
Re: [Action] Awww! You're so cute! XD
He turns in the general direction of Konan...]
I thank thee for your assistance... I will trouble you no further. [Spock lifts his hand in a Ta'al...]
Peace and long life to you until next we meet Miss Konan. I find myself most fortunate to have met you this day.
[Action]
[The papers are removed, fluttering back to Konan's side now that Spock is indoors and safe. As she steps out, they become paper wings - sturdy enough to support an adult's weight.]
I hope you regain your eyesight soon.
That was a blast m'dear! ^_^
...he wished he could see.
Spock nods his head, and gently shuts the door.
