The Malnosso, an organization outside of the enclosures that brings us to the individual villages, says that the world itself brings us here for whatever reason. We don't know it yet.

We're mostly humanoid here, Spock, but we're all from very different realities. Even the ones who claim Earth as their home aren't necessarily from the same Earth.
