Personal Log #12 - Planning [Video]

[Spock fiddles with the journal for a moment, making certain that the message is broadcast to everyone but Nico Robin.]

Greetings and salutations everyone. It is my hope that everyone has recovered from the latest Malnosso experiment, as from what I heard from others, I do not envy your experiences.
At this time, I find myself with a request for those of you who are familiar with Miss Nico Robin. It has come to my attention that due to recent events, Miss Robin's emotional disposition has greatly suffered, and it is my wish to see it improved. From what I understand of various cultural habits, it is common to utilize various festive activities to improve emotional morale. These activities should consist of conditions that are agreeable to Miss Robin, so if there is anyone who is aware of what Miss Robin enjoys, please inform me as soon as you can.
I am asking for assistance in planning this gathering... I believe the proper term is 'party'? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, as well as refraining from telling Miss Robin about this.
The time and location for this gathering will soon be disclosed.

It has to make sense to somebody, doesn't it? The most stupid stuff sounds reasonable to someone, even if it's just one person. Maybe it's not important if we remember or not, and we're supposed to be confused, and somebody thinks it's really funny to keep it that way.

Many people don't. [But because he said it, her tone is a little less sharp.] "Who I am" doesn't mean anything when it comes to common human decency. It's not like I did anything on purpose. And unless you're yet another future crewmate or some such, I don't see that as any of your business anyway.

You are correct, perhaps it is not my business. However, she is my friend, and it is my desire to see her happy.

[Spock hesitates, and suddenly he doesn't like the fact that this conversation might be viewed by someone else.]

Forgive me Miss Nami, would you be amenable to meeting in person?

[And then she's insta-suspicious. Not to mention defensive.]

Because since I now realize that the content I just released is of a private, I do not trust the journals with anymore information. Even sufficient blocking methods do not seem to prevent anyone with the right amount of curiosity.

[Logical? He thinks so.]

Perhaps. But from what I understand, the only people in this place that seem to be making any headway on understanding the complexities of this place are the Malnosso.


And they do not seem to appreciate anyone attempting to challenge their research.
[He's tried.] However, new perspective is always appreciated. Perhaps you have some theories on the matter?

[Nope, that's not his pitiful attempt at trying to get out of shopping for groceries. And perhaps... just this once, this was him trying to be nice to his friend.]

[Spock hesitates... Since he needs to get away from this situation for now, he may as well make the suggestion.]

What are your current plans? Could we meet now?

[That and he could take readings of this phenomenon.]

I would like the privacy, yes. Not that I keep this a secret, but it can be a little disconcerting to see unannounced.

But if we're going there, can you bring one of your shirts? Just pick one, it doesn't matter which.

You shouldn't have used the journals to begin with. That being said, I don't think there's anything we really have to talk about.

I can let you know if I do! Right now it always just kind of seems like this place is supposed to be hard to understand, since I haven't been around too long yet. I'm pretty sure I'm missing out on a lot of stuff.

[Yup, his curiosity is definitely piqued now.]

Of course. I will meet you at the front entrance to the Dome momentarily.

[Spock cuts off the connection and grabs one of his blue uniform shirts.
Putting on a long black coat and scarf to battle against the settling cold, the Vulcan heads out the door and makes his way towards the Dome. It isn't long before he is standing stoically, waiting for Miss Elizabeth.]

If you require any assistance in adjusting, please inform me, I would be most willing to help you.

[Because that's what Spock does.]

[Elizabeth arrives in short order, though she's only in a light sweater--the cold feels more like what she's used to, truth be told.]

[After spotting Spock, Elizabeth hesitates for a moment to be certain she has the right person before just walking up to a stranger. But he's holding what looks like a shirt, and he does look a little stiff. Smiling, she approaches him.]

Mr. Spock?

[Spock inclines his head.]

Miss Elizabeth. It is well to see you in person.
[He opens the door for her, and gestures her inside.]

We may use Room 2 at this time.

[Action]

Good to see you in person too. Ah, thank you. [She smiles and walks through to Room 2. A little stiff, but polite--which is certainly appreciated after some of the trials she's dealt with in the past few weeks.]

[Elizabeth stands in the middle of the room--it's a little strange to see it without any simulation happening.]

[A blank... greyish room for all to behold. But, to make things more approachable, the Vulcan presses a few buttons on the panel, and they are suddenly standing in a wide, grassy area. The sky is blue, and it looks as if there's no end in sight.

The Vulcan walks over to her, his shirt slung over his arm.]

Is this adequate space?

[Action]

[Elizabeth jumps a little at the sudden expanse of sky and grass, but she's clearly in awe of it--she's never been in a field so sprawling.]

Oh! Yes, this is plenty of space. Something like this doesn't need much space to begin with. [She holds out her hand for the shirt.] May I?
