Personal Log #5 - Action
[Spock gasped into consciousness and trembled at the biting cold. It took him a moment to realize that he was no longer on a metal, unforgiving examination table... but instead laying down in what felt like... snow. Fascinating.
His senses were completely off. The current date and time eluded him due to the number of occasions he had overcome to unconsciousness in the Malnosso's care...
Normally mental orientation would not be a problem...
...However, his current state of blindness left much to be desired.
He slowly stood, categorizing his physical condition, and found that his body was not cooperating as it should... he had to lean against a tree to retain balance. He ached all over. The Malnosso appeared curious towards his Vulcan physiology.... and went to great lengths to discover what they could. Spock shivered again as he recalled what they did to him. They had started with his fingers... running tests that involved pain tolerance and sense range.
They left the brain for last. Spock was successful in keeping them out of his Katra, a mental landscape containing his links...protecting what stability and bonds that he had left after his planet's devastation. However, it was his efforts in the end that now left him blind. In their enthusiasm, the Malnosso did not realize the extent of Vulcan stubbornness, so when threatening him with his eyesight did not work... they soon lost interest.
That left him in his current state.
Concentration was... difficult at the moment. There was too much pain. His Katra called out in an attempt to help him, but he did not know how successful that was. In the interim, Spock assumed that he was back in Luceti and started to walk forward... sensing the trees around him to use them for support.
He hoped someone would find him soon... He was without his uniform, and left once again in only a pair of pants. This cold was quickly becoming too much for his Vulcan biology to withstand.]
[Feel free to meet Spock wandering, blind, and cold. He's out in the woods currently, but he'll eventually make it somewhere near the village. Enjoy~]

[ buffy tries to suss out the reason for the question: ] Ah. You must be worried about him. Or -- maybe worried is the wrong word...

[ ... ] Not that I accepted, of course.
no subject
That is, unless you are already in a committed relationship.
[Spock was...relieved that Jim was well... His kidnapping would have been more tolerable if had known of his Captain's condition. It was his job to ensure his well-being after all.]

so -- while increasing her guiding pace: ] Got it in one. Not that I'm so old-fashioned that I think a gal can't dance with a guy as a friend. But Jim's so...
[ this is getting weirder. ]
It's the fifteenth, today. How long did they have you?
no subject
Ji.......the Captain has matured a fair amount under Captaincy. And I hope that I did not imply... [Spock shivers again from cold... ]
They had me... for sixteen days.

[ they'd gained one of the village paths; she gives his arm a light squeeze to warn him of the oncoming change in terrain under his feet. ]
no subject
Yes... Are the Malnosso always so....cruel?
[Spock appreciates the subtle warning, and is pleased to feel that he is somewhere more 'known'.]
no subject
[ those last two words? heavily sauced with sarcasm. ]
no subject
You refer to the droids? They were a ...challenge. And interestingly very versed in the ways of immobilizing a Vulcan.

However... what do you mean by 'used to'...? [Because Spock? He will always be curious..]

It would seem that every civilization succumbs to politics...[Spock is liking the situation less and less as each day passes in Luceti..]
However... I am curious Miss Summers, would you tell me of yourself?
no subject
[ she sounds surprised. hmm. ] I don't know how much there is to know, really. I'm just...
I'm just a girl. That's all.
[ it isn't as though she's trying to actively maintain a secret identity, here. but it's hard to always be THE SLAYER first and foremost. and it's usually a good test to see if newerish folk remember reading her name in the guide. ]

The fact that you are a female is one that I had safely assumed. I feel as though I am at a disadvantage... you seem to know about me, but I know nothing of you.
[The fact that he was testing her was of no consequence... he wanted to give her the opportunity to explain her title...]

I've been here three and a half years. Is that enough info for the introductions round, Commander? It is Commander, right?
XD
[Spock hesitates for a moment..] I must apologize for my behaviour. I believe that meeting new people while blind has caused me to consider others untrustworthy.
You have been very kind Miss Summers...
no subject
[ she pats his arm. ] I'm sorry. Your fears aren't exactly unfounded. I'm not being Little Miss Most Honest.
no subject
Very similar to Jim.]
That is quite alright. Everyone has a right to keep their personal lives as private as they wish.
I will question you no more.

[ is this cruel? is this unusual? god, she's barely even told jim this much. but that's because he's jim.
spock is...spock. logical to a fault. she remembers being able to tell him many a thing without risking judgement. ]
We cohabitated. We lived together. You and me. The last you. You-from-before. You have a right to know that much.
no subject
However, he was not a human. He processed this information... and decided to ask one more question for clarification.]
Were we in a household, or cohabiting as in.... a romantic relationship? [Because Spock could not afford to make assumptions... he did not want to hurt anyone.]
1/4
R-romantic? Relationship? You and me? Me and you?
2/4
No. Definitely not. I mean -- no offence and I know you won't really take any but...
3/4 i can't count
