Intro Log - Voice/Action

[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?

"Here within the village, there is another Jedi. He is my..."

[Hmm.]

"... It is a curious feature of this world that it not only draws in people from different worlds, but from different timelines. Luke Skywalker is, here, a thirty-year-old man, who rebuilt the Jedi Order and reshaped the history of our Galaxy. In my timeline... he is barely a few weeks old."

[He chuckles.]

"I believe I warned you. Our situation does not lend itself to brief or simple explanation."
averybadfeeling: (Concern)

[Wait it's action now isn't it]

"Yes. In virtually every respect, once we leave, it is as though we were never here at all. While we are here, however, there are some... inconvenient realities to deal with. The first is the wings, which I've no doubt you've already noticed. They cannot be gotten rid of, I'm afraid; harming them in any way has serious consequences for our health. The loss of both is lethal."
averybadfeeling: (Pardon?)

You're fine, man, I've been doing this for almost a year and I still didn't catch it.

"There was some residual discomfort and even pain, but it faded within a number of days. That said, I am uncertain as to how the physiology of your people would impact that recovery. With time, most barely notice them, unless they interfere with our garments. We become habitually accustomed to the method of lying on one's back without crushing them, we compensate for them when we move through narrow spaces... some even bind them beneath their clothing to hide them, though I do not."

[He turns briefly, allowing Spock to observe the small, precisely cut and meticulously restitched slits in the back of his tunic, through which his own small, brown wings are forced.]

"The cloak typically conceals them, and in truth, I often forget they are even present. Then again, I have been here for perhaps nine months, by the local calendar."
averybadfeeling: (Ponder)

Oh noes!

"... They can be, yes. And it is possible that they are the source of the universal translation effect we experience within the village as well."
averybadfeeling: (Default)

HEY WHATEVER WORKS FOR YOU MAN

"It is a universal effect of this place. Even the nonsentient life-forms can speak, though they somewhat predictably have little to say."
averybadfeeling: (Ponder)

[personal profile] averybadfeeling 2012-09-19 02:42 pm (UTC)(link)
"It is. To my knowledge, the flora and fauna are all brought from other worlds in the same way we are."

"I am a man of simple enough pleasures. I meditate, I exercise, I hone my talents. I help the people of the village, where they need it, and occasionally spend time among them simply for the sake of socializing."

"I would enjoy that, Spock."

[He finally comes to a stop in front of the clothing shop.]

"Typically, our clothing arrives in this shop at approximately the same time that we arrive in the village. It is not always so... convenient, but since there is no currency here within the village, you may take whatever alternative clothing you require if yours is unavailable."

[He chuckles.]

"Do mind the wings."
averybadfeeling: (Grin)

"I certainly hope so, my friend. Please, do not hesitate to contact me if you have need of anything."
