[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?

[Spock has oriented himself with the information provided in the device...journal. However, he finds himself less than agreeable towards this situation. He needs to contact his ship.]

Indeed, I am curious as to whether there are any long range communication devices or sensors that I could have access to?

Long range... [ communication devices. Helios is terrible with technology but if he had to guess, something like a cellphone or the journals. ] I'm not sure actually. There's, um, people here who can probably build something like that, I'd imagine. M-Maybe even h-help you if-if you asked. The b-barrier though...I'm not sure where the intended t-target is for your device. B-But I don't know if the barrier would, um, mess up its...communication.

I...see. It would seem that this situation leaves much to be desired. However, with reading the information provided in the device, it is apparent that we are encouraged to communicate with one another. May I ask your name and occupation?

Ah yes. I-I'm Helios Sprensonne. It's a pleasure. [ As for occupation... ] I-I'm the headmaster of a school, back home. I-I help with the school here as a teacher too.

There is an educational facility here? Curious.... what do you teach?

Mm yes there is. I, um, help teach a little bit of everything. We're a bit...understaffed at the moment. But magic, culture and mythology are my strong suits.

You are also a magic wielder? I am most curious about this field of study since I have limited exposure. Perhaps you would be amenable to a lesson on a future occasion?

O-Oh! You, um, want me t-to teach you? [ Helios is very much surprised, though he really shouldn't be at this point. ] I wouldn't mind that at all.

[ He smiles on his end and it can be heard in his tone of voice as well. He always did love teaching people, especially magic, where he couldn't do so too much back home. ]

Then it is agreed. I have always been fascinated with this practice, merely because it was never a possibility in my universe. And already I have met several individuals here who have the capability of wielding magic.

[Spock is nearing the village.]

You mentioned that you were understaffed at the school? In what areas?

There's a good few of us here. [ Helios laughs lightly at that. ] But, um, the spirits would probably be your best bet for starting magical practice. Um. Wh-whenever you, ah, get settled we can begin if you'd like.

[ Helios has a look of consternation on his face at that question. ] To be honest. I-I think most areas are...

That is... logical. However, I am curious in regards to these 'spirits'... where might I find one?

And perhaps, as you say 'when I get settled' I may assist you at the school?

Oh! Well they're all around actually. It depends on which one you wanted to contact. Nala is easily heard anywhere in the enclosure, while Hyt is...a bit trickier to grasp. Hyt is the most elusive of the seven, only being able to be heard in direct sunlight. H-He's, um, very shy too.

As for the school I, ah, suggest speaking with Raine Sage as well. She, um, has been running it longer than I have. But I doubt she would have any problems with additional help. [ They could both use a lot more than they currently have. ]

Indeed. I want to thank you for your assistance and hospitality. Perhaps I could visit you at the school at a future date?

[Spock found himself hesitant to say goodbye... he was becoming rather fond of Prof. Helios.]

[ Helios blinks on his end and then smiles. ] Oh! Um, certainly. That isn't a problem at all. I-I wouldn't mind that. A-And you don't have to thank me. It's, um, the least I can do. We all do need to help one another out here.

[ Everyone being in the same boat as the saying goes. ]

Indeed. Peace and long life to you Mister Helios, I shall contact you soon.

[Spock gives a half smile at this... he is looking forward to meeting Helios in person.]

There's no rush, of course. It's been a pleasure speaking with you as well. I, ah, hope we can talk together soon.

[ And Helios is always looking forward to meeting new people. Spock seems quite interesting and willing to learn. ]
