Intro Log - Voice/Action

[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?

I believe I will make my way to the village. The temperatures leave much to be desired and I require time to center myself. I thank thee for your assistance Mister Zevran.

Allow me to walk with you. The trail is somewhat tricky in places and I've no more traps to check at the moment. I will even go so far as to show you where you might find your clothing and personal effects.

Are there anymore from your Universe here? Perhaps more elves?

[Zev lifts a shoulder at the formal speech and turns on his heel, speckled wings tucked up close to his spine as he starts back down the path.]

As far as I am aware? No. And I've seen but one other elf and he is a...particularly argumentative fellow.

The journal mentions the 'suppression of powers'... what exactly does that entail?

Not something I have any need to fear- predominantly it effects those that make use of magic or other forms of sorcery. Supernatural powers granted by their worlds or study. The same barrier that keeps us in the village limits their ability to use those skills.

Interesting. I will need to meditate in the near future to assess the level of suppression.

What special abilities does your race have?

In my world? Some of us are borne mages. It passes along the bloodline, or so I have been told, but it is a gift common in human and elf alike. Though most Elvish mages are more talented at tapping into the inherent magic of nature rather than focusing on the forces of creation and destruction, but I have not made a habit of studying mages.

Fascinating... I have heard of 'mages and magic' through Earth lore and 'fairytales'. Though there are supernatural abilities throughout the Universe, nothing was as 'fantastical' as the magic you are describing.

You will run into it in time, at least half the village has some skill with magic all their own, the rest dabble in the magic that anyone can learn through contacting the spirits here.

Indeed, I read some information regarding that subject. Do you have any personal encounters with this 'spirits'?

I am not one they would reach out to, nor do I have any intention of learning magic. It is dangerous, and leaves one open for unnecessary risks.

Indeed. What was your role in your Universe?

I was an assassin.

[No shame whatsoever. No pride either. It was a job, one he did well, but he didn't go out of his way to cause undue suffering.]

[Spock stops walking at Zevran's answer.]

Do you still participate in such activities in Luceti?

Of course not. There is no money for one, the dead return in a week and would be quite cross with me for two, and there is no point in it for three. I was hired to kill those that needed killing in my world. I've yet to meet anyone that fits that description here.

[Spock.... does not quite know how to respond to this information. Instead he decides to change the direction of the conversation.]

Does character death happen often here?

That depends upon the board, the players, and the rules. I have not asked around so much to know who has and who has not perished due to one cause or another, but I know it's enough for there to be mention of it in the guide.

How did you come to be in such an occupation?

I was sold into it.

[He shrugs and continues down the path.]

You are a slave?

Of a sort. Bought as a child and raised to be an assassin. I suppose you could call it slavery since one can never truly leave the Crows.

The 'Crows?' Do you mind if I inquire about what this organization is?

[Spock finds himself hoping he is not being too curious about Mister Zevran's past. However, it seems as though he 'cannot help himself.']

You certainly aren't from my world if you have not heard of the Crows, Ser. The Antivan Crows are a guild of assassins, well known and well paid. They always see the job done.

I see. It would seem that there are many such organizations across the 'universes.' However, are you able to leave the employment if you wish?
