[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?

Fascinating. I would assume similar technology is applied in the phaser, however your universe was able to harness this energy successfully with the use of a stabilizing emitter system. May I see a demonstration?

[Luke activates the weapon, a green blade extending with a hiss and he makes a single strike, neatly removing a dead limb from a nearby tree.]

It can cut through durasteel as easily as paper.

This is remarkable technology. Lieutenant Sulu, our pilot, who has an affinity for swords, attempted to build such a device. He was aided by our navigator, Ensign Chekov... they were unsuccessful. However, they did almost succeed in altering the state of the ship by puncturing a hole in the hull... Luckily, even their energy source was faulty.

[Spock hesitates for a moment...]

[Luke deactivates the lightsaber and offers it over to Spock.]

It's a fairly old piece of technology in my world, though it is a little different than most. It uses a simple power-cell to power it, but it focuses the energy through a crystal matrix set in the hilt which determines the color, length, and width of the blade.

[Spock takes the lightsaber in hand and gets a feel for it.... he then activates it safely away from Mister Skywalker or any fauna.....]

[Spock gives is a few experimental swings before deactivating it and handing it back to Mister Skywalker.]

Would you be amenable to teaching me to use such a weapon?

[Luke takes it back and nods warmly]

Of course I could. We can train in the battle dome and make digital copies, though I'm afraid I've only got one spare that gets lent out in times of trouble. Though the training could easily apply to any sword.

Indeed, I am amenable to that suggestion.

[Spock gives a half smile obviously pleased with the turn of events.]

I feel as though our exchange has been very one sided, there is little at this moment I can offer you.

Its no trouble, Mister Spock. You're a New Feather, and I'm sure there's a lot you can teach me with time. Galactic weaponry aside.

[Luke returns the smile]

Say, you mentioned Earth. What year is it for you, at home?

The year is 2258. Is there an earth in your universe?

Not to my knowledge, I'm from a different Galaxy. However, I've a theory.
Its possible that worlds are connected in some way, and that this place is a sort of nexus where they meet.

Fascinating, that is an intriguing hypothesis. A temporal nexus is one very logical answer. However, I might propose a fissure in the nexus. This way the Malnosso would have acted as the high energy discharge that would have resulted in our temporary existence here.

[Spock thinks about this for a moment.]

It might be possible to format a phase discriminator.... this is a device that would cause a break in the nexus and allow for manipulation in subspace reality. Most curious...

[Spock seems a little lost in thought at the moment....]

I would agree with that hypothesis, save for one thing. We know the world is the reason we're here and not the Malnosso. They are not native to the world either.

[Oh he loves science talk!]

However, the Malnosso intercept us and bring us into the barrier, which could be done with some sort of gravity well generator. People travelling between worlds would logically have to travel at incredible speeds, increasing their mass. Else they'd never breach the barrier between worlds. The world itself clearly provides some means of safe arrival, otherwise we'd simply be mynocks on a viewport...

Fascinating. I had not realized that the Malnosso were not the original inhabitant of this planet. This conveys a whole new range of possibilities.

Has it been considered that the barrier itself is a singularity?

[...Spock does not know what a Mynock is... he will ask about it later.]

I had not considered the possibility, no. We do know that the barriers can be destroyed, however, which means that there is something physical there. The Third Party mentioned in the guidebook has broken it in other enclosures, and apparently here too a number of years ago.

That is still possible though.

[Spock nods in response.]

Perhaps we will have time after I have settled to go over this? I would be most interested in attempting to solve this fascinating mystery.

Absolutely. It has already been a most intriguing discussion.

[He continues on into the village. They've been walking for a while, they should be there by now...]

Here's the village. Its not much, but it's got a rustic charm to it.

It is most agreeable.... for a prison. Though it should prove interesting to explore. Any place that you would particularly suggest?

There are several restaurants that are fairly nice, and various shops. The Battle Dome as well.

Are you of a medical mind, Mister Spock?

I have basic medical knowledge that was provided by Starfleet, and I have since then expanded my abilities to include medical and medicinal research.

[Spock quirks and eyebrow.]

Though I am inclined to leave surgical procedures to the professionals. Why do you inquire?

We lost a doctor in the village recently, he returned home through unknown means. I was just wondering if you had any medical skills that might be useful, or any advanced medical knowledge. We've got surgeons, and a few specialized practitioners, as well as people like myself who can heal through supernatural means, but very few actual doctors.

Indeed. That is most unfortunate. I would be of some assistance to minor afflictions and in medicinal research, but nothing of medical procedures that would be needed.
