spohkh | Personal Log #10 - [Action/Accidental Video] A return to innocence...

[Spock blinks awake... but then shuts his eyes again as the wave of disorientation hits him. People and events crowd into his mind in no logical order... leaving gaping holes in his memories.

Logically, he can safely assume that something has happened to him. He's hurt, alone... and his normally eidetic memory is off... Indeed, something has definitely happened to him.

Opening his eyes once more, he takes in his surroundings... his tiny hand reaches out and takes the journal that is laying innocently beside him.
It's a familiar book, almost as if it's from a distant memory... but he cannot remember how or why it's here... or where he is for that matter. But he does recognize these trees... He's definitely been here before.
Opening the journal's pages, he doesn't realize that he has activated the 'video'... Anyone who is listening in will see the bruised face of an eight year old boy... with a familiar bowl cut, slanted eyebrows, and pointed ears.
Spock stares at the book for awhile, trying hard to place it within his memory... then shuts it. Standing, and fighting off another wave of disorientation... Spock makes his way slowly towards civilization.]

ooc: Meet 8 year old Spock, who is lost and confused as to where he is. If your CR with him is strong enough, he may recognize you, and recall some events... he just won't recall everything clearly. All answers to posts will be coming from my other account:

Feel free to bump into Spock as he wandering aimlessly around town, trying to find his way home.. or at least a familiar face. If he does find a familiar face, expect him to tag along like a duckling.
Also, feel free to grab Spock's attention through the journal, he will be very inquisitive about the entire phenomenon. Cheers m'dears! ^_^

[She doesn't go into detail unless he asks, but there is little she leaves out and even less she doesn't tell him if he does ask. He has a right to know about himself. She knows all too well how horrifying it can be to have no idea what you've done and where you've just come from.

Granted, she'd had reason to be afraid. Spock, she's very sure, has never done anything he would have to be ashamed of.]

[When he was older, he may tell you everything else... But for now the young Vulcan blinked up at Ami as he processed everything he just told her..]

Thank you Ami. It is almost surreal... though I hope my mind soon becomes clear.

I hope so, too. And until then, I'll do what I can to make it a little easier.

It's frightening to think some of your memories are missing.

[Spock thought for a moment.... his face scrunched up as he thought.]

[Ami doesn't deny it; but she backtracks enough to give it its simplest, still true, meaning.]

I've had things like that happen here.

[Spock nods as he follows along with Ami...]

Did my older version ever tell you that you were in my head?
Forgive me, allow me to rephrase that.

Did I ever tell you that our relationship created a bond? It is not spousal or familial... but it is there...
...like a friend.

[Spock had had time to search his mind... and she was there... It was probably why he could recognize her.]

[Ami stops, just for a second, before hurrying to fall back in step.]

Not like a friend. [This is important to her, if she's correcting him.]

We are friends.

[Spock looks up at her... then nods.]

Of course... Forgive my language error.

[Spock gives her another small smile.]

[Ami smiles, too, and it becomes slightly teasing.]

While you're a child, you should play, isn't that so?

.........play? Why would I desire to do that? I am Vulcan, we do not 'play'.
[Spock seems to be speaking from script..
...but playing is a very foreign concept to him.]

[She sees herself in him - at least, through a slightly skewed glass. She'd never played much, either, being serious by nature... and being misunderstood by the other children her age, who assumed she had no interest in playing with them like she so desperately wanted to do.]

Do you really not want to?

[Spock blinked at her.... and hesitated.]

It is not that I do not desire to...

...it is that I do not know how.

[There's another of those slight, small smiles.]

I might not be very good at it, either.

Perhaps... we can do something together?
Do you play chess?

[Spock blinked up at her with enthusiasm... his father only just started to teach him how to play chess at this age...
....he really hoped that Ami could play too.]

[This earns Spock a quick, bright smile. He's hit the right note for certain.]

I like chess very much. Shall we try to have a match?

[Spock gave Ami another small smile...]

I would be very much amenable to this suggestion.
Where would you like to...play?

Perhaps you'd like to go back to your house?

[It had been their plan before they sidetracked themselves with chess; and she thinks it might be easier for him to go there, to surroundings that will now be unfamiliar, with the promise of something familiar and pleasant waiting there.]

Very well... I hope I can remember where I put the chess set.

[Whenever they reach the house... there is no one around.]

I'll help you look for it. [She thinks she remembers where it is, actually, but she'll just tactfully steer the search to that room and help him look around there.]

[And there it was in a place of honour in the shelf... very easy to spot.]

[The proud little Vulcan brought the board over to the table... and set it up.]

Will you take white?

I don't mind either color. If you'd prefer the black, the white is fine.

[She's eager to be accommodating; but it's also true. She doesn't mind stretching her strategies by trying both sides.]

I will take black... please move first Miss Ami.

[Spock beamed at her in his own little Vulcan way... he very much enjoyed her company.]

[Ami complies and, since Spock's mind seems to have taken the same age as his current body, she contemplates the board for a few moments before she uses a fairly standard opening instead of overdoing it with a tricky one.]
