Personal Log #11 - Dazed and Confused [Voice/Action]

[Spock opened his eyes and held in the groan at the familiar sight of Luceti's forest. It took a moment for the Vulcan to organize his thoughts and realize what had happened...

Ah yes... He had been kidnapped once again.

Spock sat up, wary of the lingering effects from his visit with the Malnosso... and looked around for his Journal. Predictably it was laying innocently by his side... illogically he had hoped that it might have been lost. No matter.
Spock reached for it and stopped... realizing that something was wrong with his hand. It was... frozen. His long fingers stuck together, hand in the shape of a loose fist and refusing to move. The Vulcan's eyes widened in surprise as he checked his other hand, finding the exact same thing. What was he going to do? He could barely pick up the journal let alone use it properly.

The Vulcan fumbled with the journal, finally getting it to flop open on in his lap... ]

Greetings. I have been returned from my... visit... with the Malnosso. I require assistance. Is anyone there?

[Action]: Spock can be found in the woods without the use of his hands. He's going to need a lot of help, and Spock's not going to like it.
You can also catch him walking towards his place with his journal held awkwardly between his fists. Approach him if you dare.]

[OOC: When I originally went on Hiatus, I said that Spock was going to be on autopilot, however, I've needed to be away longer than originally planned. It was advised to me that I have Spock mallynapped to excuse him from not knowing everything that's gone down. Apparently I've missed wings... this upsets me greatly. XD]

[This troubles the Vulcan deeply... and he truly wishes there was something he could do.
Spock remembers suggesting to Crona that he initiate a meld between them, to see if he can quiet the being inside of him...

...but if it didn't work it would make Crona's life that much harder.]

[Spock looks disdainfully down at his Journal which is laying innocently at his feet.]

[Honestly, if he could have a full night's sleep, it wouldn't be so bad..]

It's okay...you helped me too. [That might've be funny to someone else, but Crona hardly notices, and picks it up, holding it next to his.]

[Spock looks grateful as Crona picks up his journal.... and he begins walking towards town.]

It is not a matter of 'owing'... However, if there is anything I can do for you, please let me know. We will help each other.

[Spock meant it... and in Luceti, everyone needed to help each other.]

The last time I saw you... you were regressed in years. How have you been since then?

[Crona follows, but his habit of staring at the ground is still there.]

I don't need anything though...

[He's been dealing with Ragnarok and all those issues since he was born.]

...After that I was embarassed...but I don't really have anything to do here, so I'm inside a lot.

[Spock turns to face Crona... tilting his head in confusion..]

Inside? You mean you have been spending most of your time removed from society?

[He's...still staring at the ground.]

Yes...I-I'm not very good around a lot of people.

[Spock's eyebrows twitched in concern... and stepped up to Crona...]

You have no need to be ashamed...
Acquiring a social aptitude takes practice... staying in your home negates such exposure. I would suggest that you put more effort into interacting with others.

From personal experience, I have found that having... friends... helps in many ways.

It's not very easy. I grew up only knowing a few people, and they were all mean. [And he stops himself there. He could go on a very long tangent, but that won't help anything.]

...The last time I went out to the village, I was being chased by a bunny. [That's what he gets for going outside. It's a sign...]

Was this perhaps a... different form of bunny? [Spock was thinking about the fluffy little thing that couldn't really hurt you if it tried. Why was Crona talking negatively about that?]

No, it was just a bunny...my mom made sure I wouldn't like them.

[Spock's eyebrows twitch in concern...]

May I inquire as to...how?

[And staring back at the ground. He looks like a kid that's getting scolded.]

...She made me kill them...

[Spock's frame goes ridged...

Finally he moves... stepping forward to place a gentle hand on Crona's shoulder.]

I am so sorry that you were made to do that. Please take comfort in that here... you are relatively safe.
Do not allow your past to dictate your actions in the present.

[Normally Crona would freak out just a little from someone touching him, but the different language caught him instead...and he looks a bit confused about it.]

[Spock makes a noncommittal noise.]

I did not imply that such a thing would be easy.

[Spock removes his awkward fist hand from Crona's shoulder.]
I believe that it has been proven that difficult issues of a personal nature are better handled with a support system.

...Friends.

But I can scare off a lot of people with everything.

[He's kind of wondering why people aren't just afraid of him before talking to him.]

do you think it wise to condemn yourself to a life of loneliness because only you believe yourself to be frightening?
I am not scared of you.

[The Vulcan hoped this wasn't too much for the younger man.]

I don't know...back home I was almost always alone. [Except for when he had to go make trips to kill a hundred or so people and take their souls..] And everyone thought I was scary back home...that's why I was in a cell.

...Why aren't you scared of me?

[Spock considered his words before he spoke..]

In some cases, being 'scared' is a state of mind in reaction to the unknown... the unfathomable. I believe individuals are frightened of certain things because that they do not know them.

I believe that if you allow others to get to know you, they will not be scared of you. I am not frightened of you because I see a being who wants to be accepted... and I cannot fault you for that.

But...can't people be afraid of things they know? I know people who are scared of snakes, but they know what they are. [That's a question that pretty much goes back to his childhood. He knows what bunnies are, but he's freaked out by them!]

But I'm not that good at talking to people.

As I said, one type of fear is the fear of the unknown. However, fear can be the by-product of many things, whether it be danger, disgust, nervousness, distrust...
But I feel that non of these things apply to you.

Social interaction comes with practice.. you are talking with me right now, and I believe you are doing rather well.

[Spock gives Crona a small smile.]

I used to be dangerous...[Now that he thinks about it.]

But I've known you for a while...other people are harder to talk to.

[That smile only gets a neutral face. But it's better than the frown he usually has.]

Can you honestly not think of one other person in Luceti that you can easily talk to?

[Spock knew that there had to be more than one person... If there wasn't, Spock could find Crona some friends.]

A girl named Konan...but she doesn't know about my black blood...

I know Miss Konan... do you think she would be truly bothered if she knew about you?

[Spock wanted Crona to have hope.... just one small piece of hope.]
