Personal Log #15 - Fourth Wall

[Spock can be found mostly hiding out in the Dome. he doesn't really trust the sudden influx of new visitors in Luceti, because it usually means bad news.

[The dog tilts its head, then slips the glasses off its face and, somehow, straightens the eyewear out on the ground. Then, quite plainly, it sticks a paw through one of the eyeholes.]

[The glasses... don't actually have lenses!]

[Once the pup demonstrates that, it lowers its head to the ground and shuffles the spectacles back onto its muzzle, and nuzzles Spock's hand happily.]

[Spock had to remember that leaving your mouth open in public was bad manners.
This dog had fashion sense? Most curious. The Vulcan continues to pet the dog's head, scratching behind his ears. He looks for a collar... does he perhaps belong to anyone?]

'tis the point of the pup! ...outside of dog shenanigans :3

[The pup most likely learned from people on the street, considering the collar it wears has only one word: "Akane". Probably the pup's name!]

[Ooh, ear scratches! Pup likes the ear scratches; don't mind the little paw tapping happily on the ground. Who would leave such a clever pup on her own?]

[Spock reads the name...]

Akane. Do you want to come with me? It is quite cold outside for one so small to be wandering around. Do you mind if I pick you up? [He wonders how much of this the dog understands.]

[Akane seems to perk up a lot at the mention of being picked up, jumping up quite enthusiastically.]

[After settling down a bit, she puts a paw over Spock's hand, and barks eagerly. Come on, come on, adventure--!]

[Well, that seems to settle the question of whether this dog was able to understand him. Spock marvels for a moment at how intelligent the dog is, then gently lifts the dog into his arms. He unwinds his scarf and puts it around the smaller creature so as to keep her warm.]

Let us see if you belong to anyone here, okay?
[As he walks, Spock continues to scratch her under the ears and around the neck. He's always wanted another pet... though he hasn't ever gotten around to getting one since his pet Sehlat, I-Chaya died long ago.]
