Vulcan?

[Eyes wide, he blinks. Vulcan? A race tied to the old Roman god?]

I am Leonardo, signore, Leonardo da Vinci. And I am afraid I am unfamiliar with Vulcans, save for in classical tales. Are you related to them?

Mister da Vinci. It is an honour to meet you sir, I am a great fan of your work.
And no, I am not related in any way to the Greek god... I am not from planet Earth.

[Leonardo quirks his head and bows in return.]

You...have heard of my work? Does that mean my inventions have been moved to another planet? Or my art?

[He's a bit young to have painted the works he's known for, but he still seems excited.]

And what do you mean not of Earth? You are from another planet? A...I do not even know a word to describe such a thing.

I am indeed from another planet. [Spock seems amused at the man's curiosity. Of course, a genius like this should only be curious at absolutely everything.]

The stars you see at night? I am from a system surrounding one of those.

[His eyes go wide with shock. Was this man serious? Wow!]

You are being serious?! What a world that must be, out beyond the sky! You look human, save for the ears. Is your planet like Earth? And...how do you know of me if you're from another world?

Your work is renown throughout the quadrant. However, my mother was human, and she was always fond of your artistic abilities. She was a teacher. [Spock looked away for a moment. He doesn't talk about his mother very often.]

My home planet is not like Earth... It is a large desert, with temperatures much hotter than Earth's climate.
