Personal Log #6...4th Wall

[Spock was.... rather curious at the unexpected influx of individuals without wings...

In his mind, the Vulcan was making theories that included black holes, transporters, ion storms...It was frustrating that the nature of this world made it impossible to pin down any one theory.

Spock can be found traveling to the Dome in the morning, and working there for the rest of the day.
In the evening the Vulcan's curiosity gets the better of him and he stops by Seventh Heaven to see who all is there.]

[A corgi, wearing glasses, and walking beside him happily.]

[Spock is used to the talking animals in Luceti... though the conversation is nonsensical...

This dog however does not have wings and has anthropomorphic characteristics...

In other words... why the heck is it wearing glasses? Spock stops walking, and always being fond of animals, leans down to pet the creature.]

That's right. Robin mentioned this might happen. [Puffs his teeny birdie chest up.] I am Marco! But smaller.

No worries though, yoi! One day I'll get big enough to even carry Papa around! [Can't deny fierce determination like that.]

This must be a shift corresponding to the influx of new people.]

I am Spock... I regard you as a friend of mine.

[The keyword here will be illogical. Kevin here has spent the day wandering around making friends with the flood of people, native and newcomer alike. He can't really tell the difference, no matter how many times he's been told to just look for the wings.

So he walks into the bar, and this isn't the start of a joke. This is the start of getting food, because he's hungry. Which is weird, because he's still convinced he's reliving this crazy dream that he's had before. And he walks up to Spock, confusing him for someone who works here.]

Um...do you have the number 28 special here? Or is it called something else?

Oh! Am I supposed to order in French? In that case, I'll have the number 28 in French special, please.

Cue the desert planet of Vulcan. XD

[The doors closes behind them and swallows them in darkness...

Though it eventually starts to lighten, and the small room is suddenly a massive space of sand and heat. The two sun above them blaze as the dune and rocky terrain shapes itself in the mild wind.

Mountains loom above them from a distance...]

This is a minor program I have been working on... nothing complicated.

[Spock regards him with an eyebrow raise...]

I beg your pardon?

There is no special twenty-eight... In French it would be La vingt-huit spéciale....

[Spock gives him a look that is very Vulcan.] I am Spock, who are you?

Cue a kid who is *rather fond* of the desert! <3

Whoa...

[It was strikingly familiar yet wholly alien at the same time. The vastness and the heat reminded him of his desert treks through Saudi Arabia, but the mountains and the sun...]

Mister Spock. This is more than just a 'minor program'. It's...beautuful!

Then I'll have that thing you just said. [...] Unless it's snails or frog legs, because I heard they eat those in France.

[At Spock's introduction, he looks thrilled. In theatrical speechlessness, he places his hand over his heart.] I'm Kevin. Wow, talk about really caring about your customers! They should really promote you. [This is said with nothing but sincerity.]

[Spock regards his companion with a fond look....] My thanks Mister Winner....

This is a simulation of my home planet, Vulcan. It is the closest approximation that I could do...

You seem at 'home' in the desert.

Oh good! [Flails birdie feet over the side of the table so he can steal a chair and switch back to human. Or at least hybrid.]

I love meeting new friends! Especially when they already know me! [Don't even ask how that works.] Are you hungry? The chef here is really good, yoi! The backup cooks too!

Mister Kevin... [Spock narrows his eyes...] If you are need of food, then I suggest that you inquire at the appropriate place. [Spock gestures to counter...]

I am not in a position here to be promoted. [Spock does not understand the concept of sarcasm.]

[Spock gives Marco a rather bewildered look....for a Vulcan...]

I.. yes. I will join you for sustenance at this time. Can I get you anything? [Spock has this illogical desire to 'ruffle' the childs' hair...]

I see. I had a feeling that you weren't a normal person. [not that it changed anything...]

The desert is kind of like a home for me. I do alot of work with the Maganc Corps. Their homeland is in Saudi Arabia, and I've spent a lot of time there.

[Stares at Spock for a bit. Sustenance... and offering to get him things. You are interesting.]

A chocolate milk? Oh! Or strawberry milk please!

[Cheeps down, wondering if overdid it and adds in a quiet voice:] Thank you!

What will you have? [Acting like he owns the place... Oh wait, Marco does that everywhere.]

[Spock gives Marco a half-smile...He doesn't mind at all.]

Very well, I will get a chocolate and a strawberry milk.... and then we can share...

[He looks over his shoulder to see the front counter. You know, that place where you place orders. Slowly, he turns back to Spock.] Sooooo...what you're saying is you don't work here?

I am curious though... where did you think you were? [Spock wants to know where that order 28 thing came from...

I thought this would be just like Burger Emperor. I mean, it doesn't really look like it, but that's how dreams always are - you're in a place you've never seen before, but you just know where you are. Know what I'm saying?

Though I can assure you, this is no dream, nor is it Burger Emperor. This is Luceti.

[Spock nods, and goes to the counter... soon return with a chocolate and a strawberry milk.

He puts the strawberry milk in front of Marco.

The Vulcan takes a sip of his own chocolate drink, enjoying the flavour.]

Nothing formal was declared... but I have considered us friends for approximately two months. [Spock was new to friendship...So of course he would be a little awkward about it.]

Indeed... I am Vulcan.


You have spent time in the desert... [He knew there was something he liked about this kid.] You would have enjoyed Vulcan then... I have been to Saudi Arabia... the temperatures and conditions there are more comparable to my home then anywhere else on Earth.

What of your own home Mister Winner? You live on one of these colonies?

See, that's it! I've had this dream before, and, and I woke up and forgot all about it! And now I'm having it again!

[No worries, Marco himself is still getting used to people, at this stage, much less friends.]

[And he cheerfully sips his milk before beaming happily.]

Wow! That's a long time! [He thinks about it, trying to do some calculations to compare it to something other than 1/6th of a year, or 8-9 weeks.] What month is it now? Does this whole island move? I didn't think sky islands could move! But I didn't think sky islands had land either and this one does! But it's so strange, it was summer here, and now there's snow! So the island must move, right?!

[He talks. Apparently a bunch even.]
