[Spock was.... rather curious at the unexpected influx of individuals without wings...

In his mind, the Vulcan was making theories that included black holes, transporters, ion storms...It was frustrating that the nature of this world made it impossible to pin down any one theory.

Spock can be found traveling to the Dome in the morning, and working there for the rest of the day.
In the evening the Vulcan's curiosity gets the better of him and he stops by Seventh Heaven to see who all is there.]

A rather abnormal flux of new individuals it seems...

I am amenable to that suggestion.

The village itself is rather... quaint. However, the center of activity for the community is the Battle Dome.

A place with the technology to allow for simulation training. [Spock gestures to the door, so that they can go there.]

It's quaint, but kind of nice. It reminds me of some smaller towns on Earth, really. [Quatre followed the stranger, confident that he was trustworthy.] What kind of simulation training are we talking about...?

My apologies, I am Spock.

The simulation exercises are limited to the universes exposed to this world. However, if one has programming experience, then the simulation is limited to the programmers imagination.

Are you familiar with simulation technology?

I'm not familiar with simulation technology myself, its not something that's used on either Earth or the Colonies, but the idea of it has existed in tv shows and movies for a long time.

Is it really what we imagined it would be?

Colonies? What is the current date on your world?


[Spock considers his question...] I am uncertain... simulation technology has been available on the planet Vulcan for much longer than earth, so it is beyond my memory.

Perhaps you would care for a demonstration?

[His tone was calm and neutral, as if he expected the question.] And, if you don't mind? I'd love a demonstration.

[After Colony? What happened on earth for it to be split into colonies once more....]

What happened 195 years ago on your earth?

[They were nearing the Dome, Spock opens the door for his companion gesturing for him to step inside.]

[Quatre nodded in acknowledgement at the gesture and entered the building.]

That's easy. Humanity started building industrial colonies in space.

That is most interesting Mister Winner... What was your occupation?

[Spock's curiosity was definitely piqued.]

My father is the CEO of a large mining corporation on the Lagrange 4 colony, where I was born. Though there's a war going on, he's made it a point to keep our industry out of arms manufacturing because he believes that fighting isn't the solution.

He's been very good to both his workers, the colonists, and even the competition. No one is overworked, and the prices remain among the lowest on the market.

It's quite a thing to do, given the political situation at home.

[spohkh]

That is... most curious.

It is unfortunate that the earth is still experiencing war.

[Spock approached the controls...]
Is there anything specifically you would like to see or do in the simulation?

It is, and I do hope that we can find a more peaceful way of resolving conflicts one day.

[But until that day...]

Why don't you decide? It'll be a fun surprise.

[Spock nods and goes to the programming console...

A door finally opens...]

[He didn't need a second prompt to step through the door and into the simulation that was Mister Spock's project.]

Cue the desert planet of Vulcan. XD

[The doors closes behind them and swallows them in darkness...

Though it eventually starts to lighten, and the small room is suddenly a massive space of sand and heat. The two sun above them blaze as the dune and rocky terrain shapes itself in the mild wind.

Mountains loom above them from a distance...]

This is a minor program I have been working on... nothing complicated.

Cue a kid who is *rather fond* of the desert! <3

[It was strikingly familiar yet wholly alien at the same time. The vastness and the heat reminded him of his desert treks through Saudi Arabia, but the mountains and the sun...]

Mister Spock. This is more than just a 'minor program'. It's...beautuful!

[Spock regards his companion with a fond look....] My thanks Mister Winner....

This is a simulation of my home planet, Vulcan. It is the closest approximation that I could do...

You seem at 'home' in the desert.

I see. I had a feeling that you weren't a normal person. [not that it changed anything...]

The desert is kind of like a home for me. I do alot of work with the Maganc Corps. Their homeland is in Saudi Arabia, and I've spent a lot of time there.

Indeed... I am Vulcan.


You have spent time in the desert... [He knew there was something he liked about this kid.] You would have enjoyed Vulcan then... I have been to Saudi Arabia... the temperatures and conditions there are more comparable to my home then anywhere else on Earth.

What of your own home Mister Winner? You live on one of these colonies?

[Spock could have called himself a terrorist for all that Quatre cared about the distinction. He could tell from their short conversation that Spock was a good man, and that was the only thing that mattered.]

Your home must be very interesting then. [And he wasn't just saying that.]

I am from the colonies, you're right. I grew up on one of them. It wasn't bad, but the temperature controlled, artificial environments don't compare to anything on earth.

Indeed... [Spock looks around...] That is the one thing that I cannot program...

The feel of this place is wrong compared to home... and I shall never know it again.

[Spock looks back to his companion...] Perhaps we should depart, yes?
