Personal Log #6...4th Wall

[Spock was.... rather curious at the unexpected influx of individuals without wings...

In his mind, the Vulcan was making theories that included black holes, transporters, ion storms...It was frustrating that the nature of this world made it impossible to pin down any one theory.

Spock can be found traveling to the Dome in the morning, and working there for the rest of the day.
In the evening the Vulcan's curiosity gets the better of him and he stops by Seventh Heaven to see who all is there.]

My Captain has said that I am a 'kill joy'...

I do not understand what this means...

[Spock looks at the Phoenix's sad face... and sits up..] I apologise, I did not mean to make you sad.

[THAT HE GIGGLES AT. And shakes his head.]

No no! That's what being first mate means! We have to stop them from being dumb, yoi!

My little brothers call me their mother hen sometimes. Because they're idiots. [Look at this hand-sized bird and imagine him sarcastically being called Mom by a bunch of pirates. Either he's lying, the pirates are babies, or phoenixes have weird time cycles and bodies. Probably that.]

Oh and Ray's always having to smack Shanks and that idiot clown together! They call him a killjoy too! [Gets up to get another milk and a croissant.]

So don't worry! That just means you're doing it right, yoi!

[Spock huffs into his almost finished chocolate milk....]

I do not like being a kill-joy...

But... I thank you for your optimism, I appreciate it.

[Spock blushes a bit... then looks around to make sure no one else is listening...

...then leans close conspiratorially again, lowering his voice.] Can I.... can I tell you a secret?

You're not really being one. They are just being whiny. Don't worry, they'll get over it. It's for their own good, yoi!

[Nods!] Aye! First mate honor. [Have a teeny fist bump again.]

[spohkh]

[Spock gently presses his fist against the tiny one... then looks around once more before leaning in again....]

I think I like my Captain.

[chibifirebird]

[Hand over his mouth and whispers back excitedly.] I like my captain too, yoi!

[And before Spock can explain he means romantically (whether or not that's the case)...] Are you going to be Valentines together?

[spohkh]

[Have a confused Vulcan...]

Valentines? What does that entail?

[chibifirebird]

You go on dates and spend the whole day together!

[His shipping started young.]

[Spock's face blushes a dark green...

And he blinks a few times....]

Dates? What happens on these dates?

[He thinks about it for a bit and then puts his mouth as if alarmed.]

I don't know. I've never been on one!

[But he doesn't fret long, his exuberance bounces back quickly.]

But I bet it must be something really fun and exciting that makes people super happy to be together!

Indeed? Do you think my Captain would like it if I dated him?

[Spock thinks it over for a moment... finishing off his second chocolate milk...]

Then maybe he won't think I'm a killjoy anymore...

AYE! You should ask him on a date!

But what happens if he says no?

[Spock's face went kind of sad at that thought...


...but then he tilted his head... his expression turning brighter.]

I will use my logic.. then he will not be able to refuse!

[Yup, that's logical.]

AYE!!! [Oh. His. Gosh. YOU are a genius. Why has Marco never thought of this genius-ness before? If he were an adult Marco would still be in shock, amazed, and instantly decide Spock is the most genius genius that ever did genius.] You can do it! And then you can go be Valentines together!

And you should bring him a card!

[Because cards are harder to refuse. Logic.]

A Card?

Why? [Spock gets another drink, also getting both of them a plate of veggie nachos... he gestures to Marco that he should eat some.]

What is the purpose of this card?

So you can write down the logic so he can't refuse!

And then he'll have to remember it too!

[Noms some!!!] I gave my captain drawings. But I gave some to Ray too. For his birthday. And also drinks. [Best son :|]

Your logic is sound....

However, I have no artistic talent.... So words will have to suffice. [Spock was thinking hard now of what he was going to put in the card... Too bad he's going to forget all of this tomorrow.]

I will play him a song! [The Vulcan blurted this out like it was a divine intervention.]

[Giant :O of surprise again.]

You can do that?! Oh yes! You should definitely do that. That would be most excellent. I sang a song to Robin! We're not Valentines, but I think it counts! [Swishes his chibi tail all about.]

[spohkh]

[Spock tilts his head...]

You are not Valentines with Robin? But you like her yes? [Spock blinks his big brown eyes at Marco... because Robin and Marco are together.]

Aye!

[Dude the kid-mode is like eight. And nomming more nachos while thinking thoughtfully.] Do you think she'd be my Valentine if I gave her a card?

[spohkh]

Yes. [The Vulcan was adamant that, yes, Marco would definitely be Robin's Valentine if he gave her a card.]

Out of curiosity... who is looking after you while you are your current age? [Spock was worried about leaving a child unattended...]

Then I will! I bet she'll be really impressed.

Ace did last time, so probably Ace! When I find him. But he's not looking after me, I'm looking after him, yoi. He's my younger brother. Even though he's taller, but they all are.

[spohkh]

[That... did not.... make sense.

And Spock's face said so....



But then it finally clicked in. Of course... Marco's odd shift. Of course.
Good job Spock. Chocolate really effects your cognitive thinking doesn't it? ]

Very well. I should... I should go.... and make a card.
