Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.

Welcome.

To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.

A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.

I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.

[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.

In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.

In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.

Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

Very well. [Spock gave Saori a half-smile as he once again started to play the lyre...

The melody was 'sad' though... and soon Spock's disposition changed.]

[Saori listens with rapt attention, stepping closer and crouching to watch him play.

And she won't interrupt him at all.]

[Spock plays on... and watches Saori curiously....

When he finishes he gestures to a chair.] Please, take a seat Miss Saori. Are you familiar with this instrument?

[She takes a seat beside him, still watching]

I am not. It looks like some sort of stringless harp.

It is an instrument that originated from my home planet Vulcan...

[Spock hesitated for a moment...] Perhaps... perhaps you would accompany me with your voice? [Spock was fond of Saori's singing.]

Of course. Do you have a song in mind?

Negative... however... maybe I should accompany you.

Something traditional? I will play to suit your voice.

Something...traditional from the West, or do you think you can follow a Japanese tune?

I would be most interested in hearing the Japanese song. I will be able to follow along.

[Spock places his hands in the appropriate positions, and waits for Saori to start.]

[Saori begins to sing in a slow, stilted voice. Sakura Sakura, a song Spock might even recognize.]

[Spock moved his fingers to Saori's beautiful voice...

The Vulcan had indeed heard of this song...

Though when he played, it was with the eerie tones of the Vulcan lyre.... Paired with the already haunting quality of the song, it truly made it sound 'otherworldly'..]

[It was quite eerie, and when she finished Saori wasn't quite sure what to say.]

That was most pleasing Miss Saori... my thanks. It has been a long while since I have been able to duet with someone.

The same. I don't know many musicians here.

I have been practicing specifically for Misters Jack and Eugene... they seem to be gathering anyone with musical talent.

Ahh! I've agreed to perform for their radio show as well.

That is well! I look forward to hearing your performance.

[Spock hesitated for a moment...] Miss Saori... have you heard of any of the rumours about there being some individuals who have found a way home?

I have, indeed.

[She leans closer]

Do you believe them?

[Spock hesitates for a moment... Normally he would have gone to great length to theorize what was happening, and the probabilities.

But Spock was... tired of making probabilities for a world that had none.]

I do not.

Do you?

No.

[Saori shook her head with finality.]

No, I do not. I think they are being very, very hasty.

[And foolish]

Indeed. The emotional impact that this will cause the community will be... unfortunate.

I will not get involved. [Spock hopes that it doesn't turn into a war... It had the potential.]

I am already preparing for the ramifications of what might happen if it fails.

That is wise.

Let us hope that it will not be too severe.

[Then Spock tilted his head in curiosity...]

Do you live nearby Miss Saori?

I live in House 44, I was just out for a walk.

I thought you might live close by...
