Personal Log #7
[Video]
Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.
Welcome.
To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.
A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.
I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.
Peace and long life.
[Action]
[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.
In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.
In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.
Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

[voice]
[There was a pause, then:]
It's something like that. But, this place ain't so bad. You never realize how nice electricity is until it's not there.
Re: [voice]
I have found a rather suitable replacement in an aluminum alloy... But there's an element missing.
[voice]
Twentieth-century Earth level tech here, right? You try copper? If I'm thinking correct, copper was used in most electronics from that time. Should be easy enough to get.
Re: [voice]
By amplifying their power, it could be used to create an energy field... An aluminum and copper alloy could be utilized to break down the particles and thus creating a barrier...
Not exactly up to Starfleet standards... but unfortunately, it is all I have to work with here.
Do you have any ideas?
[voice]
I'm no engineer, but I've gotta few ideas. Lookin' at what we've got? Try some kinda wet cell. Should be easy enough to rig up.
Re: [voice]
Your logic is sound....
Would you be amenable to assisting me with this operation?
[voice]
And I'm also still pretty new in town but, y'know... it might be more entertaining than hitting a few bags in the barracks. I'm not gonna make any promises though, 'cause I've already got my own gig.
Re: [voice]
[Spock considers something for a moment...] How have you and your companions been adjusting to Luceti?
[voice]
Eeh. It's nothing that special, but the electricity's nice. One of my friends is pretty fond of the Dome already. But, he liked his battle sims even at home.
Me? I prefer a live opponent. It's more fun that way.
Re: [voice]
[Spock was curious... if Cliff's strength was high enough, he may have a sparring partner.]
[voice]
Trust me. You wouldn't like a fight with me.
[He was far stronger than most Earthlings, and agile too.]
Re: [voice]
No matter... Shall I contact you when I have arranged a time at the Smithy?
[voice]
Get back to me after you've punched a dragon a few times.
[No, he wasn't joking.]
But that sounds like a plan to me. If the smithies don't want to help, we can figure something. Makin' coils shouldn't be that hard.
Re: [voice]
Peace and long life to you, until next we meet.
