Intro Log - Voice/Action

[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?
redjacketthief: (too bad)

I see...

[He knew that feeling too.]

I'm just going to step on in, if you don't mind.

[Lupin shut the door behind him when he entered and turned to assess the problem at hand.]
redjacketthief: (-glasses- thoughtful)

Oh ho ho, so much~

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-14 02:56 am (UTC)(link)
[Lupin nodded and set to work, using his callused yet deft hands to gently work the wings under the shirt and through the holes. They were black--of course they were black--but it was a strangely vulnerable experience in Lupin's eyes.

There was a reason he kept his wings under his jacket as often as he could. The weather made him relent, but he never allowed people to touch them unless it was necessary.]

This is quite a mess you're in. Is Starfleet standard uniform usually this tight?
redjacketthief: (stealthy--on radio)

OH GOD

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-14 03:08 am (UTC)(link)
That makes sense. I wear similar clothes on the job sometimes.

[He refrained from mentioning his career as a thief. A highly logical argument about how it was immoral and unethical was something he didn't want to deal with.]

How does your job involve the mechanical aspects? Didn't you say that you were mainly a researcher?

[It was both his knowledge of the original show and their earlier conversation that led him to this question, though he was actively holding back on revealing any details about that television show. For the moment.]

And now it's in a different kind of alignment~

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-14 09:32 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah, that makes sense...

[But the next question had Lupin wondering about how to proceed. He kept his cool even as he debated the merits of telling the truth versus lying to the Vulcan. Lying was his natural default to such questions; one of the first conversations where he was honest about his career in Luceti led to an upstanding (and quite talkative) teenage girl demanding to know why he would choose such an awful lifestyle...and why he was mean enough to steal Fujiko's 'fiance.' However, his inner fanboy chided him--wasn't Spock a telepath and empath in the original series? Would lying to him actually be worse and trigger a similar lecture that the truth would?

ohgodohgodohgodohgod--

He kept himself cool in spite of the internal debate, and glanced over at Spock with an easy smile.]

I specialize in infiltration and extraction...

of the questionably legal kind.
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (complaining)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-14 10:47 pm (UTC)(link)
There's nothing worth it here-so no. Unless it's a mission that involves entering covertly? No.
redjacketthief: (-glasses- confident)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-15 03:22 am (UTC)(link)
Not approving, huh? Thought so.

[It wasn't unexpected. He spun on his heels and motioned for Spock to follow.]

That shop is just a few doors down, not very far.
redjacketthief: @ rerun (casual-- lazy)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-15 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
No, no. It's fine~ I've just had a million lectures about my chosen career since I arrived. Sometimes I wish more people had your concept of...'ka'adith.' It's a really cool term!

[Though, clearly, Spock would in time come to realize exactly how twisted a man Lupin really was.]
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (grin-- i love you)

You'll see it if we continue having threads together! XP

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 12:12 am (UTC)(link)
Really? Really?

[His suppressed fanboying was coming out.]

That's be cool if we could. I can probably show you a few things too, someday. We can figure out what when the time comes.

Our destination? The door's just up ahead.
redjacketthief: @ rerun (casual-- lazy)

He has many other skills~

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 12:44 am (UTC)(link)
[Lupin lead the way into the item shop, with its myriad shelves filled with necessities and personal belongings. He had himself grabbed many an item here--his lockpicks were of note--and he liked to check back periodically to see if there was something else that he needed.]

You'll be able to find your general items in here. Any weapons will be in the smithy or the weapons shop. I found my semi-auto there, but slugs can be a commodity. Having a more high tech pistol is handy around here because of that.
redjacketthief: (casual-- bored)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
[He nodded in understanding, and had actually used the Bryar blaster pistol he received from Luke Skywalker as a gift in place of his Walther P-38 in battle recently. The target was a mob of people that he didn't want to kill, but shooting has always been his best option.

Blasters have a 'stun' option similar to phasers. It was a more merciful solution.]

That makes sense, given your knowledge of technology and relative timeline. My home is just on the verge of the 21st Century, so leaded bullets are still the standard. Tasers are becoming more popular, though.

[The tech-geek in him was deeply interested in the PADD--it called to mind a similar device he had in another lifetime that had been granted to him by the Malnosso. Lupin wondered if he still had enough coding knowledge to work with that Starfleet's tech...but that was too personal.]

Your tricorder should be in here too, but the phaser will be elsewhere. The Malnosso know how to make everything inconvenient, unfortunately.
redjacketthief: (-glasses- plotting)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 01:37 am (UTC)(link)
Considering that our options are electricity or lead? It's the better choice for now. It must look barbaric to someone from a future timeline...but ka'adith, right?

[He clearly enjoyed having a new word in his vocabulary.]

We should talk more about our different cultures sometime, because this has been a very interesting conversation. Normally I don't talk to new feathers for long because saying the same thing to different people starts to feel redundant after the first ten times. I'd also love the information exchange sometime...it's probably not much by your standards, but hacking has become an important tool for thieves in my era. The Dome is something I think you would enjoy, honestly. It would be fun to show you around.
redjacketthief: @ starkxravingxmad (wink-- shooting the sky)

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 01:53 am (UTC)(link)
Sure thing~

[He grinned, a little mischievous. Another name was added to his list of people who needed to be taken out for coffee sometime, and it was added with a thrill of fanboy glee. He could keep calm. He could keep calm~]

It's just down a little ways. All of our shops are in the plaza.

...and thanks. I'm also honored to be a good host for you.
redjacketthief: (focused--with glowrod)

It's a thing he does. It takes a special sort of person to be added to this list :3c

[personal profile] redjacketthief 2012-09-16 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
[It wasn't far--they arrive fairly quickly.]

Other than these there are the necessities. A grocer, several restaurants, a couple of tailors who are volunteers from within this village. There's also a couple of semi-tactical organizations and the barracks in the south of the village.

Besides that, we don't have much. Think of it as a cozy little paradise in the Alps, and you'll be pretty close to what we have here.
