spohkh | Intro Log - Voice/Action

[Illogical does not even begin to characterize the situation that Spock has found himself in. Approximately 2.4 minutes ago he was on the bridge of the USS Enterprise, and through some, as of yet unexplained phenomenon taking no time at all, (possibly through some spacial anomaly or undetected ion storm) suddenly appeared inverted in a tree... Current conditions also leave much to be desired. Spock's Vulcan physiology requires higher temperatures, and proper garments for optimal comfort... the forest in which he is now located has a lower than optimal temperature, and coupled with the disappearance of his Uniform and thermal wear he finds himself rather... cold. Though, perhaps it is fortuitous that he appeared in clothes at all... the white pants will have to suffice.
Upon his initial assessment, and descent from the tree, he was amazed to see an alteration to his physical person]

...Fascinating.

[Spock cards his fingers through the feathered protrusions located in the area of his scapula. Since he could feel a rather curious sensation through manual stimulus of the ...wings, Spock can safely assume they are indeed his newly acquired appendages. He could not fail to notice that his wings are the same ebony color his hair is.
Taking in his surroundings, Spock could hear the sound of running water close by... but nothing significant that could give him evidence of his location. The terrain was similar to that of Earth, however, there was 'something' about them that Spock could not quite explain that told him 'no, this is not Earth'...
As he was about to venture towards the water in hopes of finding civilization, something catches his attention... it appears to be some form of recording device located at the base of the tree in which he just descended from. Picking up the device he also notices that it has his name on it and it appears to be active. Curious... This proves that he was indeed sent here on purpose. But why?
Spock finally decides to speak out loud.]

Greetings, I am Spock. Is there a conscious form of life out there that can tell me my current location?

I'm Ami Mizuno. I'm pleased to meet you. That stream isn't too far from the village. Is someone coming to guide you?

Indeed, I have located a map in the 'device' that will suffice. I am walking towards the village now. Perhaps we can meet at a location of your choice... Would you be amenable to 'showing me around?'

I live in House 3; it should be marked on the map you're looking at. We could meet anywhere nearby, somewhere between here and where you're at now.

Agreed. I will meet you outside of your apartment building.

[Spock turns his walk into a jog, he should be there momentarily as he sees the village coming closer.]

[It's... a relief to speak with someone like Spock, someone who tends to formality and reserve as she does herself. Ami finds herself appreciating that quality immediately.]

I'll come that way right now.

[With that, there's no more to discuss, and she says a polite farewell before heading out to meet Spock partway. She walks, meaning she doesn't quite cross as much distance as he does before they'll spot each other.]

[As Spock nears the designated meeting spot, he sees a female walking towards him.]

Miss Mizuno, is that you?

[Ami gives a polite nod, a bit deeper than usual since they haven't met yet.]

That's right. I'm Ami Mizuno. Mr. Spock?

Indeed. Greetings. [Spock lifts his hand in a Ta'al, a Vulcan gesture.]

Are you from an Earth Universe?

[Now Spock has Ami's full attention. The question implies that he is not from Earth himself - as she'd noted his appearance anyway - and at the same time, it implies he knows of Earth.

It could be from others greeting him in Luceti, but...]

That's right. I was born on that planet. [This lifetime, at least, and she assures herself that it isn't a lie, and that there's no need to speak of living on Earth's moon, or of planet Mercury.]

Asking that, could it be that you're familiar with Earth?

Indeed. I am part of a organization by the name of Starfleet that is based out of San Francisco, Earth... also one of the founders of the United Federation of Planets.

[It's a glimpse of what could be, and of what once was: the solar system living in peace - no, more than that. Perhaps even the galaxy.]

United Federation of Planets? Where I'm from, space travel only really began about fifty years ago. There's nothing like that, yet.

Indeed. Usually I would be more adherent to the Prime Directive... however this situation seems to allow more freedom of information.

May I ask what your occupation was on Earth?

You're right. They say we forget Luceti if we leave here, and in my experience, the saying is true.

[Spock's question receives a smile that has an evident pride in it, an honest pride in her accomplishment, and in being able to follow a path she decided on with her heart.]

I became a doctor, after studying in America.

Do you have an area of specialization?

I was studying to become a surgeon. [More precisely, though she doesn't boast by saying it and agreed to keep the matter just between them, she'd been advising the surgeons meant to be her mentors.]

[At Miss Mizuno's answer, Spock cannot help but think of Dr. McCoy.... odd.]

Do you have a practice here?

Yes; the battledome and village both have clinics fully staffed. I work at the village clinic normally.

Battle dome? I am curious, perhaps you can 'show me around' there at a later date?

I'd be happy to. The simulations are incredible; I'd like to try inputting a few more myself.

[Spock's curiosity is peaked at the word 'inputting'...]

We have permission to input our own scenarios?

To an extent, yes; anything basic shouldn't be any trouble, though some very specific scenarios might be beyond the capabilities of the simulations.

[Rain starts to fall lightly on the two... and Spock is still shirtless. Spock looks as though he enjoys rain as much as a cat does.]

Perhaps a change in location is in order? What location would you suggest?

This way. We can get out of the rain quickly. [And... possibly find Spock some better clothes.]
