Personal Log #10 - [Action/Accidental Video] A return to innocence...

[Spock blinks awake... but then shuts his eyes again as the wave of disorientation hits him. People and events crowd into his mind in no logical order... leaving gaping holes in his memories.

Logically, he can safely assume that something has happened to him. He's hurt, alone... and his normally eidetic memory is off... Indeed, something has definitely happened to him.

Opening his eyes once more, he takes in his surroundings... his tiny hand reaches out and takes the journal that is laying innocently beside him.
It's a familiar book, almost as if it's from a distant memory... but he cannot remember how or why it's here... or where he is for that matter. But he does recognize these trees... He's definitely been here before.
Opening the journal's pages, he doesn't realize that he has activated the 'video'... Anyone who is listening in will see the bruised face of an eight year old boy... with a familiar bowl cut, slanted eyebrows, and pointed ears.
Spock stares at the book for awhile, trying hard to place it within his memory... then shuts it. Standing, and fighting off another wave of disorientation... Spock makes his way slowly towards civilization.]

ooc: Meet 8 year old Spock, who is lost and confused as to where he is. If your CR with him is strong enough, he may recognize you, and recall some events... he just won't recall everything clearly. All answers to posts will be coming from my other account:

Feel free to bump into Spock as he wandering aimlessly around town, trying to find his way home.. or at least a familiar face. If he does find a familiar face, expect him to tag along like a duckling.

[Spock took a step closer to the woman...]

Ami... Mizuno...

[The young Vulcan child invaded Ami's space and tugged on her sleeve.] Will you assist me Ami?

I am... lost.

[As if she could ignore that plea. Ami puts on a reassuring smile, and nods.]

I know where you've been staying. I can bring you there.

[Spock breathed... he almost sighed in relief. This woman.... she seemed like family to him.]

I... thank thee. Your assistance is most appreciated.

It's alright; we should all help each other here. Especially friends.

[Yes, Spock, friends - and that's not a word Ami uses lightly. Family isn't far off, really.]

[Spock gave Ami a small smile... then hesitated...

There was something missing..]

Where is my mother?

[The question has the force of a punch. She imagines it right then: herself, younger, wanting Mama and finding out she's so far away...]

I'm sorry; she's back in your home. She isn't here.

[She can't quite bring herself to tell the child Spock this is a good thing.]

[Oh Ami... if only you knew what actually happened to his mother.
Spock looks expectantly at the woman...]

Then... why can I not go home?

[Spock's face scrunches in concentration again as disjointed memories crash around his mind.]
We... we are trapped here yes?

[She can't lie, even if a part of her would like to to make him feel better. It won't help in the end.]

That's right. We haven't found the way yet. But we haven't stopped trying, either.

[Spock seemed to accept this... and he felt safe with Ami, trusted her even.

Strange.]

How... do I know you?
[Spock stood close to her... ]

[Uncomfortably close, really, but she can hardly reprimand a frightened child for something like that. It's not really his fault.]

We met here and became friends. We played chess, and we studied together for awhile.

[Now, if he asks, how will she explain that they study some of the same topics because they're actually roughly similar in age?]

[Spock nods.... and takes a step back when he feels Ami's discomfort. He blushes when he realizes his error and un-Vulcan like behaviour.]

I see... Then, I would be most appreciative if you could show me where I live.

[Spock has taken a great interest in the ground.]

Of course. You must be hungry, and tired. I'll take you there right away.

[And, Ami notes to herself, make sure friends of his are there to take care of him - or stay awhile herself. She doesn't know how deep the changes go yet; it's best to be careful and keep him safe.]

[Spock nods...]

I will follow your lead Miss Ami...
[Spock waits for her to move... ]

[She leads Spock the right way, and if she's a bit distracted, she still manages the correct answers to questions along the way.]

[Spock tilts his head as he regards Ami...]

Is.. there something wrong?
[No use hiding it, the Vulcan has noticed.]

[She's quick to shake her head in her effort to be reassuring.]

Not exactly wrong. I just wonder... how much do you remember?

And I wonder how long it will be before your memory returns to normal. [She says it this way to avoid scaring him with the implications of his actual age.]

I...am uncertain. It is like a dream that I cannot recall perfectly. I feel as though I know you... that we are close...

...yet everything leading up to that point of closeness is not in chronological order. I get flashes of memory...

...but I am uncertain of when, or where. It is though I do not belong in this body...

...[Spock frowns in thought...]

If you want me to, I'll tell you everything I know.

But it might be difficult to believe.

[She leaves the decision in his hands. It's his own life to learn about, after all.]

[Spock considers it for a moment....
Then finally looks up at Ami.]

Very well.

[ooc:we can handwave the conversation and get the after-reaction?]

[She doesn't go into detail unless he asks, but there is little she leaves out and even less she doesn't tell him if he does ask. He has a right to know about himself. She knows all too well how horrifying it can be to have no idea what you've done and where you've just come from.

Granted, she'd had reason to be afraid. Spock, she's very sure, has never done anything he would have to be ashamed of.]

[When he was older, he may tell you everything else... But for now the young Vulcan blinked up at Ami as he processed everything he just told her..]

Thank you Ami. It is almost surreal... though I hope my mind soon becomes clear.

I hope so, too. And until then, I'll do what I can to make it a little easier.

It's frightening to think some of your memories are missing.

[Spock thought for a moment.... his face scrunched up as he thought.]

[Ami doesn't deny it; but she backtracks enough to give it its simplest, still true, meaning.]

I've had things like that happen here.

[Spock nods as he follows along with Ami...]

Did my older version ever tell you that you were in my head?
Forgive me, allow me to rephrase that.

Did I ever tell you that our relationship created a bond? It is not spousal or familial... but it is there...
...like a friend.

[Spock had had time to search his mind... and she was there... It was probably why he could recognize her.]
