Personal Log #14 - Action/Not an Elf
[Why did he agree to do this? Well, he knows why he agreed to this, but the logical question would be why was he still in this illogical costume?
In the early evening, the Vulcan can be found walking through the village of Luceti wearing a very festive green and read elf costume, complete with a pointed hat and shoes. The hat even had a bell on it.
Spock's expression didn't exactly reflect the festive outfit he wore though, and if anything, it looked as though there should be a dark cloud following the Vulcan around. Approach him if you dare as he runs various errands at the grocery store, items shop, then finally the Dome.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, the Vulcan has become an elf for the season as a favour for a certain Captain.]

Re: action;
[ The outfit had been more of a joke than a gift, but all right. He'd have to remember to get Spock something - maybe a new notebook for him to take notes in or something? He should find the Haru kid and ask him where he got that notepad he had been drawing in... ]
Hmm, I dunno. I haven't given it much thought really. Maybe some new boots or something?
Re: action;
...because it obviously made Jim happy. That's what mattered, right? Right. And while Spock might not like it, this too was a gift for Jim.]
Very practical. What of Doctor McCoy? Do you plan on giving him a gift?
Re: action;
[ Really, it was a good gift if you thought about it. ]
I might even let him near me with a needle.
Re: action;
I am sure the doctor will appreciate the sentiment.
My mother was discouraged from celebrating Christmas while she was on Vulcan.
[Where did that come from? Oh well, maybe Spock was feeling sentimental.]
Re: action;
Really? That's kind of sad. That's bordering on oppression really. I mean, I know you guys don't celebrate it, but you'd think she'd be allowed pay some homage to it, right?
[ He frowned some, pondering on that, and there was a twinge of sadness as he thought about someone "discouraged" from celebrating a holiday that might have meant a lot to them. ]
Re: action;
She never seemed to regret her choices though...
[The moment was ruined when the bell on Spock's hat tinkled.]
What of yourself Jim? What did you and your family do on this day?
Re: action;
[ He shrugged. ]
Pretended we were happy.
[ It was a true answer, one he felt comfortable given Spock, despite how... odd it was. But it was the truth. His mother pretended to look at him without pain, like she always did, before she disappeared again into the unknown of space. Sometimes she didn't come home at all. His uncle? He was happy to get up, get his gifts, and disappear, go back to ignoring Kirk until he did something to earn a beating. ]
Re: action;
While 'happy' was never a concept that was truly allowed in Vulcan culture, Spock nevertheless knows what it means to pretend to be 'content.'
He would constantly hide his emotions from his mother to make her happy, because in the end, that was all that mattered.
Jim on the other hand...
...well, let's just say that in their own way, they were both alone.]
Are you pretending now?
Re: action;
No.
[ There was no hesitation in the answer, and he looked over at Spock, their eyes meeting.
Oh there were many emotions swimming around inside of him, roiling and hissing, but to say he was unhappy? That would be a lie. Even in Luceti, he could be happy. He had friends, lots of them, a second chance at life - albeit in a kind of sucky place. He was still working through a lot of stuff, but he was, yes, happy. ]
Re: action;
What was his heart doing?
Fascinating.]
That is fortunate then. I find... that I am most content in this moment as well, regardless of what I am wearing.
Re: action;
Really? Well, I guess "anger" wouldn't be a thing you'd feel huh, over some tights.
[ He reached up, poking at the other's bell and bit his lip to hold back laughter. Oh yeah, he owed Hikaru big time for this one! ]
I'll take content.
Re: action;
Spock instead ends up staring a little bit too long and does something he has never done before...]
Um...
Re: action;
[ Kirk's head cocked, brows drawn in confusion. ]
You okay there?
Re: action;
Of course.
[Spock begins walking in earnest again.] I believe that retribution is required in this situation. [Yup, Spock is going to seek revenge, Vulcan style.]
Re: action;
Retribution? How so? I didn't exactly FORCE you into that. You're the one that caved.
[ Logic, Spock, it was logic! ]
Re: action;
Re: action;
And I can say no.
[ He's better at this game than you, Spock, beware. ]
Re: action;
[Game? What game. This was life.]
Re: action;
I dunno. It depends on the outfit. I've had enough of playing dress up for one lifetime anyways.
[ he wasn't sure anyone would soon forget those miniskirts...]
Re: action;
Why was he doing this? By wearing this outfit for Jim, he was basically telling all of Luceti that he loved his Captain. Yeah, he was compromised, he should have said no.
But then, everyone knows he would do anything for James Tiberius Kirk.]
I am sure Loki is satisfied for the moment.
Re: action;
Well, one can hope so. I guess it was just his way of saying "hey, I'm back".
[ He shrugged, not really mad, but then he had never been mad. Irritated, but he took it with good grace at the last. ]
Re: action;
[Spock jealous? Never.]
Re: action;
Why so worried, Spock? He's never hurt me before.
[ It was true, he hadn't. Loki had pulled his pranks, but Kirk had never actually been physically hurt by him. ]
Re: action;
[No more on the matter...]
Perhaps it would be wise if I went home now. My tolerance for public humiliation is at an end.
Re: action;
All right, all right, you've served your time. Maybe I'll be nice and pick up cocoa on the way home.
