Personal Log #14 - Action/Not an Elf

[Why did he agree to do this? Well, he knows why he agreed to this, but the logical question would be why was he still in this illogical costume?
In the early evening, the Vulcan can be found walking through the village of Luceti wearing a very festive green and read elf costume, complete with a pointed hat and shoes. The hat even had a bell on it.
Spock's expression didn't exactly reflect the festive outfit he wore though, and if anything, it looked as though there should be a dark cloud following the Vulcan around. Approach him if you dare as he runs various errands at the grocery store, items shop, then finally the Dome.
Yes ladies and gentlemen, the Vulcan has become an elf for the season as a favour for a certain Captain.]

[To admit that he was wearing it voluntarily... Man, that takes stones!]

[It takes a moment for Eley to even realise who he's looking at when he sees the brightly coloured figure walking past the shops, the bell jingling at every step (he may have ventured into the village to secure presents for people). When he does however, he has to wonder what exactly was going on to warrant his friend wearing such strange garb.

The Spirit approaches, a look of slight bemusement on his face.]

Spock? Is there... a ceremony taking place that I am unaware of?

[Spock freezes at being caught...]

Eleytheria... it is well to see you. [But perhaps not dressed like this. Spock... well... he looks very grumpy.]

Unfortunately there is no ceremony nor obligation attached to wearing this ridic--...costume.
I am wearing it... out of politeness.

[Spock's trying to dodge a bullet but it's not really working.]

[Tsuzuki can't actually believe what he's seeing. It reminds of one of those American things he saw sometimes when Christmas came to Japan.]

[He needs to clear this up otherwise it will haunt him when he tries to sleep. He follows the elf to the grocery store.]

[Spock freezes at the sound of his name and turns...]

Mister Tsuzuki... it is well to see you.
[But definitely not in this elf costume.]

Are you also running errands today? [Yup, totally avoiding answering for the elephant in the room.]

What the hell did you let him do to you? [He didn't need to see more than Spock's back to know exactly who the elf was. He was good at recognizing his crew, but more so, he had been told about this whole plan. He just...hadn't expected it to actually happen. Oh, he knew Jim had a tendency to get what he wanted, he just didn't know Spock was the kind to cave in to this sort of thing. It was too bad he hadn't been there for the whole negotiation.]

Well, turn around and show me the whole ensemble then. [Yep, time to put on a show right there on the sidewalk, Spock.]

[Spock froze... a very pregnant pause after McCoy's request. The Vulcan did eventually turn, and if looks could kill, Leonard would be vaporized.

Spock was ashamed that he could also feel the heat of a blush staining his cheeks in embarrassment. Yeah, he really didn't like Jim in this moment.]

I did not let him do anything. [Yup, he's in denial.]

[Walter had been quiet lately as he slowly continued to build his lab, but there was one thing he couldn't ignore and that was someone dressed as a giant elf.

A Christmas elf, even.

A very Vulcan Christmas elf.

His hands are taken up by the basket into which he has over 17 jars of horseradish and three boxes of pudding pops, but he is most definitely staring as Spock walks down the next aisle.]

...I could have sworn that batch hadn't worked....

[Yeah, going to completely ignore the fact that he's in an elf costume for the moment.]

[Bundled up thoroughly against the weather and gathering items from the store for dinner, Zev is very much in his own little world until a particular and familiar figure passes through his isle. He knows those ears, that elf that is not an elf...and.

What is he wearing?

Zev cannot help but stare for a fair while before risking a comment.]

Might I ask what why, exactly, it is that you are sporting such...festive clothing, my friend?

[Spock freezes at the sound of a familiar voice and turns...]

Mister Zevran, it is well to see you again. I was unaware that you had returned to Luceti.

[Spock looks down at his costume and back up at Zev, looking a might embarrassed.]

I still think you should set up a Santa's Workshop, give the kids a little fun.

But... he could feel Jim's happiness, so he couldn't really complain.


However, asking Spock to be happy in this situation would be asking way too much.]

From what I understand of that particular tradition, are not the elves 'happy'?

[For just a second, Ami stupidly thinks the elves from last year have turned up again (already). She stops in her tracks, the look on her face one of perfect surprise, before her eyes actually widen further as she realizes the truth.]

Mr. Spock?! [She had most definitely not anticipated this. And she will not laugh, she will not laugh, it would be very rude and mean to laugh.]

[Spock almost sighs, but manages to refrain at the last second before turning to face his friend.]

[Almost a lie, he certainly didn't want her to see him in this outfit. Go ahead, laugh... it's not going to make the situation worse than it already is. The Vulcan looks like grumpy cat.]

... No. Why are you doing this?

[It's one thing when the majority of Luceti's worlds don't have any idea what actual elves are, but the fact that this Christmas holiday is building up the idea that there's only one kind is beginning to become... almost offensive. For the most part she ignores it and let's it go - it's not worth it to say anything, and it'll all go away once the holiday season finishes.

But this... is just uncomfortable to watch.]
