Personal Log #7
[Video]
Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.
Welcome.
To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.
A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.
I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.
Peace and long life.
[Action]
[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.
In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.
In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.
Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

Re: [Action]
Mister Eleytheria?
[Action]
Ah... yes. I am sorry for intruding. I had not heard such a sound before. Should I leave you in peace?
Re: [Action]
You are not in dragon form.
[Action]
I could not retain that form for too long here. It seems I will have to retain my ability to change for... special occurrences.
[But enough of that, he wants to hear about this music he was overhearing!]
What exactly were you playing?
Re: [Action]
You found the music pleasing?
[Action]
While Agkelos is renowned for its music, I have never heard a sound quite like it... though I feel that even the Agkelons would be interested in playing alongside it. There is something soothing about it... magical. As a lullaby, I suppose that would make sense.
Re: [Action]
My father taught me.
[Spock regarded Eley...]
Are you musically inclined?
[Action]
[At his question he looks slightly embarrassed, but pulls out the harmonica that Rudy had given him as a Christmas gift.]
I am afraid I am not familiar with any instruments myself, though I was given this as a gift, and have tried to learn its secrets. Music is something I enjoy, I know that. I have taken an interest in it if nothing else.
Re: [Action]
Do you know what that is? [Spock looks at Eley, slightly amused.]
[Action]
A harmonica I believe. The boy who gave it to me attempted to teach me how to use it properly. It has been... difficult so far. I am not sure if I understand the concept.
Re: [Action]
[Action]
[What couldn't the Dome do? It seemed to have everything.]
It would not hurt to try. But it does not have to be now, I do not want to interrupt you.
Re: [Action]
Will you tell me more about your world?
[Action]
Of course. What exactly do you wish to know?
Re: [Action]
You also mentioned a war...
[Spock was very curious.]
[Action]
Originally the Agkelons were a very open society. They allowed anyone to enter their kingdom and shared their music and beauty with whoever crossed their borders. I was never a part of that.
I came across them after my people abandoned me. The Agkelons had also lost faith in people from the rest of the world at this point as they had begun to exploit them and their resources. This was when war first came to Aether. We made a promise... They would strengthen me with their belief and accept me as their deity and I would protect them from the outside world. So I took them to the sky with me and they lived apart from the ground beneath, stuck in their ways and despising anything that was not Agkelon and pure.
There was a ripple of change just before I was taken here... though I cannot say what will happen next. The violence has subsided for now... though belief in Spirits is dwindling and humans are turning to technology to aid them instead.
Re: [Action]
I do not have much experience with 'gods'... what experience I do have is limited to Luceti... and a few questionable situations on two other missions involving the Enterprise crew.
It is.... unfortunate that your world is losing its old ways. Vulcans, though very technologically advanced, have held on to traditions since the dawn of logic thousands of years previous.
We had found a harmonious balance. [Vulcan may be gone now... but the tradition lived in the elders that were saved.]
[Action]
[Something in the words Spock used catches his attention though.]
You say 'had'. What happened?
Re: [Action]
A race of about six billion was reduced to ten thousand in minutes.
[Spock plucked at a few strings...It was starting to become easier to reveal this information... Eleytheria was the sixth person he has told about this.]
[Action]
[Wait, what? Planets being destroyed?! That was something that Eley hoped would never be possible on Aether, but... obviously it had happened elsewhere already. If Aether was destroyed then Eley would go with it, no matter where he happened to be at the time.
He looks rather shocked at the information and more than a little anxious. What exactly could he say to that?]
I am... sorry to hear that. It must be difficult for you even now. How did this happen? Where did the rest of them go?
Re: [Action]
[Spock would never admit to having a difficult time with anything...]
Ka'adith... what is, is.
As for what happened... it is a rather lengthy story, are you certain you want to hear it?
[Action]
I am not needed anywhere at this time. I have as much time as you need to explain... and would be happy to listen.
Re: [Action]
Perhaps it would be wise to relocate our conversation to inside the house. It is rather cold still to be out for very long.
Can I interest you in a cup of tea?
[Action]
He gives a nod at that and stands.]
Tea would be... nice. [He had seemed to get a taste for it lately after all.]
Re: [Action]
In short order, the Vulcan has two cups of tea placed in front of them as they sit in the rather comfy living room.
But where to start...]
