Personal Log #7
[Video]
Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.
Welcome.
To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.
A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.
I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.
Peace and long life.
[Action]
[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.
In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.
In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.
Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

Trust me, Spock. In the face of finely fried potatoes, doubt disappears.
no subject
I was not aware that I was doubting anything.
[Spock watches the server skeptically as they walk away... This had turned into a rather interesting development.]

Very well... Buffy. I look forward to being proved wrong.
no subject
[ said very much in the tone of someone who already knows how the far more 'logical' option is to accept rightness for what it is. ]
no subject
But you do not fear being wrong. [not a question.]
no subject
[ a light shrug. ] Not that I'm always fearless in the face of being wrong. It depends on the stakes, doesn't it? Sometimes, you just can't afford it.
no subject
[Spock raises an eyebrow... he would never state it like that... however.]
Your logic is sound...
no subject
[ buffy merely believes that sometimes you have to 'redefine' what winning is. sometimes, that redefinition includes death. ]
no subject
You and the majority it seems.
I have come to a point where the purpose of the test has been explained so many times...
...that it no longer has meaning.
I am contemplating shutting it down.
no subject
I say this having gone through a similar test of my own, y'know. It wasn't pretty.
no subject
It was true... his test was flawed.]
I... thank you for your input Buffy... I believe I understand.
I will alter the test to suit logical, human standards.

If you are referring to the less than satisfactory regard to the intelligence level of women with blond hair....
...then you will find that I disagree with that notion greatly.
Though your speech may be difficult to comprehend, you are highly intelligent Miss Summers.

[ her good humour persists, in spite of the earlier topics. she's always been susceptible to compliments -- especially the true ones. ]

He enjoyed Buffy's company.]
You must surprise individuals on a daily basis.

[ she waggles the fingers on one hand, as if challenging to vulcan to a good old-fashioned arm wrestle. ]

[Spock guarded his mind, then placed his arm in the appropriate position.]
no subject
[ she parrots the word with a smirk, lodging her elbow on the table and nudging the vulan's tea a few inches out of the way before she clasps her fingers around his. ]
no subject
[Spock tests his hand against hers.... and finding himself mildly surprised at the solidity there.]
no subject
[ she says with a smile, prompting him to all the next number. ]

[Spock braces his arm... ready for the last count...]

He had known Buffy was strong.. but this strong? The Vulcan pushed with more weight, but her arm did not budge. Spock started to visibly struggle.]
