spohkh | Personal Log #18 - [Action

The Dome:

[One of the simulator doors is wide open for anyone to see inside, and for the most part, the room is empty... except for a tv, and a large couch; the back of which is facing the door. For anyone who knows the Vulcan well, they'll recognize the cap of neat, black hair sticking above the back of the couch. What will seem odd though are the sounds coming from the room...

...sounds, for those who would recognize them, that resemble something like video games from the mid eighties to early nineties.

If anyone dares to venture into the room and walks around the couch, they'll see the floor littered with games for the various consoles set up by the tv. Currently, Spock is engrossed with Super Mario Bros for the SNES, his eyebrows and mouth fixated in a scary looking frown as he navigates through the levels.]

[ooc: Spock has been gone for just about two weeks, and is now suffering under a inconvenient effect: he's addicted to video games. For those who would like to jump in on this, there are extra controllers. *hint hint*

[Spock does this little shrug and puts in the game. He settles back onto the couch as the title screen appears, the epic music blasting through the room....]

Who should I choose?

[Since Vegeta seems to know these characters, it might be best to adhere to his knowledge of them.]

[He does have something to say during the opening cutscene of the game, which features him being thrown through a solid rock wall by Buu. He points to it.]

That never happened.

[But anyway]

Who do you think you should pick? Look, there's Kakarot, Gohan, and the rest of them, but if you want to win, you should choose me. [He points to the selection of him in his super saiyan form.]

[Spock nods, looking as though he's taking everything Vegeta says as important....

....then chooses Goku.]
[His smile is practically smug as he watches the screen.]

Ready?

[He glares at Spock, of course he'd choose Kakarot... so Vegeta chooses himself. And he's not doing so hot anyway. He's getting angry because the game is so restrictive of what he knows he can do in real combat, and he's not even really pressing any of the buttons right anyway. Maybe if he's lucky he'll be able to get his character to flash behind Spock's and get a good hit in, but it's not going to win him the match.]

[Ten minutes later had Spock looking smug at the screen as Goku did his 'victory dance'.]

Fascinating game. I rather enjoyed it.
Shall we have another round?
[Yeah, he was being a smug bastard right now.]

[He looks over and sneers.] Forget it, this is ridiculous anyway. I can't believe I wasted the time. This game is obviously designed in Kakarot's favor, so you only won because you got lucky.

I won because I am obviously more experienced. You did, what others refer to as, 'button mashing'. Not a very good technique when playing this type of game.

Again?

[Spock was hoping that Vegeta's desire for improvement would win out. Or... well, the alternative would be resulting in Spock having to get a new tv to use.]

Don't sound so proud of that, Spock. Such a useless talent. [He doesn't know what button mashing is the hell. So on the character select screen, he chooses SSJ Future Trunks- because sword.]

Let's see how your Kakarot deals with this. [He'll take Spock's advice and not button smash so much, maybe he'll do better? But there's no way he can win.]

[Spock doesn't look as smug, but he still looks pleased as Kakarot does his victory pose at the end of the round.]

You are improving.

[Though it may take him a couple hundred more games to beat Spock at it.]

[He growls at Spock. He might of done a little better, but it's still annoying to him.]

Who cares about your stupid game. [He tosses the controller to the ground.]

[Spock looks pointedly at the controller, then up at Vegeta.]

Does this mean that you do not wish to play anymore? Contrary to what you may assume, I enjoy your company.

Please. You're just enjoying winning all the time. [Why did he even do this, he doesn't even know.]

Winning all of the time has become quite tedious, a challenge would be more appropriate.
I would have removed myself from this room quite some time ago, but it seems that I cannot.

What do you mean. [It's not clicking yet.] Did you break your legs?

[You can't lock people in here, can you? That doesn't mean he's locked in here too does it...]

My legs are physically fine, rather this insatiable need to play video games seems to be an affect from the Malnosso.

I do not wish to stop, and yet, I do.
[Spock looks almost grumpy now as he stares at the screen.]

Allow me to fix that little problem for you.

[He raises his finger, hand emulating a gun, and quickly dispatches every console plus the TV and the games, leaving them as smoldering heaps.]

[Spock stands, looking shocked as the controller falls from his hand. He stares at the blackened mess of electronics... then over at Vegeta.]

It is interesting that it never occurred to me that that would help. Thank you.
[The side of Spock's mouth quirks the tiniest bit, showing amusement at Vegeta's actions.]

Well then. Happy to of been of service. [Especially now Spock can't whip him at video games anymore when it doesn't exist.]

[The Vulcan seems to take a moment to collect his thoughts, then straightens, looking like his usual self.

He looks into his messenger bag and pulls out a disk... handing it to Vegeta.]

Please allow me to express my thanks with this, of course, I would have given this to you regardless.

[He takes it, playing with it in his fingers.]

What is it.

Precision training. The moving targets in this simulation are no bigger than the palm of your hand, and there are thousands of them moving quickly. This particular simulation will deny you the use of your regular powers, so you will have to get creative in finishing the objective.

[He hopes this will work for Vegeta. He's never created a simulation for someone so difficult.]

[Palming the disk, he looks up at Spock and grins wickedly.]

Thanks. I can make use of this. [He too, stands up, tucking the disk away in a pants pocket. It actually sounded fun.]

Indeed. Please inform me if you encounter any complications.

[The Vulcan starts to leave, but then turns to Vegeta once more.]
Perhaps if I was more human, I may state that I had fun passing the time with you... if I was more human.

[With that, he leaves, a small smirk on his face.]
