Personal Log #18 - [Action - All Day]

The Dome:

[One of the simulator doors is wide open for anyone to see inside, and for the most part, the room is empty... except for a tv, and a large couch; the back of which is facing the door. For anyone who knows the Vulcan well, they'll recognize the cap of neat, black hair sticking above the back of the couch. What will seem odd though are the sounds coming from the room...

...sounds, for those who would recognize them, that resemble something like video games from the mid eighties to early nineties.

If anyone dares to venture into the room and walks around the couch, they'll see the floor littered with games for the various consoles set up by the tv. Currently, Spock is engrossed with Super Mario Bros for the SNES, his eyebrows and mouth fixated in a scary looking frown as he navigates through the levels.]



[ooc: Spock has been gone for just about two weeks, and is now suffering under a inconvenient effect: he's addicted to video games. For those who would like to jump in on this, there are extra controllers. *hint hint*

[Lance had come to the Battle Dome today to train his Pokemon. Imagine his surprise when he passes by a room and sees the door open with some familiar sounds coming out of it.

The dragon master pauses, and peeks in before daring to venture in. Coming up behind the couch he sees the console and the game being played. The man whistles lowly.]

I haven't seen one of those in a long time.

[Not since Gen 2!]

[Eley had been visiting the Dome a little more often lately since he'd gotten hold of a weapon. He wanted to practice how to use the thing after all, and not to do damage either. He was aiming to detain foes without doing too much harm.

...today though, something was a bit different. There was a strangely alluring noise coming from one of the rooms and the Spirit finds himself drawn to it. He notes the strange grey and black cartridges on the floor and boxes scattered around and bends down to pick one up. 'Sonic the Hedgehog'. What on earth was this?

Putting it back down again, Eley approaches the couch in the middle of the room and notices a familiar figure sitting there, tapping away on a strange device and staring at a box with a tiny man running across it.]

Spock...? What are you doing?

[It's late in the afternoon that Syre wanders into the Battledome, aiming to practice her skills with the rapier. And, in typical fashion, she starts head straight for the first open simulation room she can find...]

[...and pauses, mid-stride, to peer inside the open doors of the room Spock is currently occupying. All she can see is the piece of furniture and the head of dark hair, but the strange beeping she hears is more than enough to pique her curiosity.]

[Quietly, she steps into the room, avoids various strewn about boxes, and finally manages to close enough of the distance to rest her hands on the back of the couch and watch over the figure's shoulder.]

[On the screen, she's barely able to follow as a brightly-colored, squarish-shaped man hops over creatures with turtle shells, onto a green pipe...]

That's a strange sort of simulation. It looks almost like a caricature.

He honestly didn't know the simulator could...do...that...is that what he thinks it is? He's looking inside of the room from the doorway as he was headed out to go home and um? Is someone honestly using that to play video games? That isn't what the dome is for, and he's about to leave when he notices who it is. Isn't Spock supposed to be working on stuff for him why is he wasting all this time playing video games what the hell that's stupid he shouldn't be doing that aldfasl;kfjasklfjasl;kfjl;askjfl;j

So he stomps right in and makes his opinion known!]

What on earth are you doing, you've got other important work to be completing don't you??? [LIKE HIS SIMULATIONS?]

[An open door? That seems weird. How would that affect a simulation to have a door in the middle of nowhere? But, when she leans around the door to peek in, it actually looks like a room, so it would make sense. On the other hand, she's not quite sure what's up with that box. She's seen one like that in the rec centre -- though not with that many other boxes hooked up to it -- but she's never been around when it was on, so the images going by are new. She watches from the doorway for a while, trying to puzzle it out.]

...Did you make a -- simulation inside a box inside a simulation?

[We have to go deeper.]

[Okay, that's odd. Harry's out exploring and this is definitely one of the last things he expected to see, but. Hey. Who is he to judge? He watches for a moment before stepping into the room. (A little hesitantly, because really, he hasn't had much of a chance to try to make things right after that first disastrous introduction.)]

[For awhile, the white-gowned woman (Ami?) simply watches Spock playing the simulation game, saying nothing as her sharp eyes take in every detail. Either she is politely avoiding causing a distraction, or she is highly focused. It would be hard to say which, at first.

That the simulation is of a type of game is easy to tell, but she has never seen one quite like it before. ]

[Seeing a simulation door left wide open is a little surprising. Even more so to find it’s actually active, with not much in it beyond a cluttered room and... a couch? ... Isn’t that one of those “televisions” from the Welcome Center? What’s it doing here?

Rudy quietly slips in, approaching to get a better view. Even more baffling is the moving picture on the display. From what he can see, it looks like it’s controllable or something like that. But that can't be right. Finally, he speaks up.]

… Are you watching cartoons?

[Is this another example of cartoons of other worlds? The kind you don’t see in newspapers?]

[After a particularly grueling session with Luke and a quiet breakfast at House 46, Leia decides to head over to the battle dome for some target practice. She has one of her blasters hanging at her hips and her long hair is braided in a crown around her head in a comfortable manner. In fact, she is the perfect picture of deadly grace as she walks through the dome's hall to an open room.

The curious sounds coming from the door left ajar make her stop mid-stride. They remind her of some of the flight sims she's used to train her piloting skills. Intrigued, Leia looks inside and spots a fuzzily familiar set of ears and black hair.]

Mr Spock? Is that you?

I meant to tag this, I'm so sorry, hope you don't mind! [Action]

[Saori's coming out of her simulation, wiping sweat from her brow when she happens to hear the sounds of electronic boops and bleeps. Some of which actually sound familiar.

And that's what gets her in the door. She quirks an eyebrow when she sees that it's Spock, though. He didn't seem to be the gamer sort...but...she can't really think it's a terribly bad thing! She likes Mario Kart, herself. But she doesn't recognize whatever he's playing.]

What's this, Spock? I don't think Yuuna showed me this one...
