I think writing is sufficient for now, unless you deem otherwise after I have expanded upon my idea.

Luke and I have both been forced to wonder if the Shifts themselves cause some sort of subtle change within us that, over time, will build up into something far more... terrible. Luke has seen some rather nasty things from other enclosures.

I think this something worth considering. The best way to go about it, I believe, is for the three of us to find a few cooperative new feathers when the next lot comes in and examine them in all the myriad of ways we are capable to establish a baseline. Afterwards, we may track them over the successive shifts and see if there are any changes. This would be a long term project.

I will start the analysis as soon as the data becomes available. From personal experience it is evident that there is a various measure of change that happens over a period of time while being exposed to this enclosure.
We should consider adding our own information to this data so that we may analyse ourselves to see if this shift change has had an impact.
Do you suggest any particular method in this approach?

We may as well add ourselves to this data pool, since there's no harm to it, though ours will probably be less useful as we have already endured one shift - or in Luke's case, several.

We will need to store the data outside of the journals to prevent interference as best we can.

As far as acquiring data from the newcomers, I would suggest they be approached by yourself or Luke. My social status makes the fact of me publicly approaching others a risky one, as that might invite outside interference. I could do my own analysis whilst you or Luke was working and your presence would hopefully be a mitigating factor for mine. I would also prefer to keep the purpose of our data collection quiet for now, as it is merely a hypothesis and it seems a bit ill-considered to alarm people for what may be no reason at all.
