Personal Log #7
[Video]
Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.
Welcome.
To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.
A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.
I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.
Peace and long life.
[Action]
[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.
In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.
In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.
Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

[Spock would normally have been serious....
...but the small smile gave him away.
He was definitely teasing Buffy again.]

[ a mister busta rhymes. ]

The Vulcan regards her with a confused look.] I am familiar with that genre of music... but not that particular artist.
However, I am interested to know where he has acquired his science degree, because he is proposing something that is theoretically impossible.
[Good job Spock, missed the point like a real trooper.]

[A beat.]
Illogical.
[And there you have it folks, Spock is an old man who doesn't like rap music.]
no subject
You know, I think I missed this.
no subject
...but then he realized that he had been here before...
The 'no memory' thing really annoyed Spock. But at this moment he feels badly that he does not remember his past visit.
Spock regards her with kind brown eyes...]
Indeed? I am flattered.
Though now that I am here, you will not have to 'miss' this anymore.

she gestures at his tea. ] Is that all you're getting?
no subject
Why?
no subject
[ there was literally no reason why he should be curious, but the vagaries of conversation with buffy summers were many and barely connected. ]
*snerk*
no subject
That's it. I'm ordering us some. It will change your life.
[ she flags down a server. ]
no subject
Life altering french-fries? I highly doubt this.
[This is just one long string of slap-stick, isn't it?]
no subject
Trust me, Spock. In the face of finely fried potatoes, doubt disappears.
no subject
I was not aware that I was doubting anything.
[Spock watches the server skeptically as they walk away... This had turned into a rather interesting development.]

no subject
Very well... Buffy. I look forward to being proved wrong.
no subject
[ said very much in the tone of someone who already knows how the far more 'logical' option is to accept rightness for what it is. ]
no subject
But you do not fear being wrong. [not a question.]
no subject
[ a light shrug. ] Not that I'm always fearless in the face of being wrong. It depends on the stakes, doesn't it? Sometimes, you just can't afford it.
no subject
[Spock raises an eyebrow... he would never state it like that... however.]
Your logic is sound...
no subject
[ buffy merely believes that sometimes you have to 'redefine' what winning is. sometimes, that redefinition includes death. ]
no subject
You and the majority it seems.
I have come to a point where the purpose of the test has been explained so many times...
...that it no longer has meaning.
I am contemplating shutting it down.
no subject
I say this having gone through a similar test of my own, y'know. It wasn't pretty.
no subject
It was true... his test was flawed.]
I... thank you for your input Buffy... I believe I understand.
I will alter the test to suit logical, human standards.
