Personal Log #7

Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.

Welcome.

To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.

A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.

I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.

Peace and long life.

[Action]

[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.

In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.

In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.

Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

Do I sound emotionally sound--?

[ actually. her question breaks off prematurely. usually, buffy loves to take a person's words and wind them up. twist them. break them. reform them. but it feels cruel to do that to a vulcan.

so she relents: ]
I'm...okay. How about you? [ she waves three fingers in front of his face. ] Are you visual once again? How many fingers am I holding up?

[ she drops her arm back to her side, half-smiling. ]

Dunno what you're talking about, Spock. Me? Change the subject? Inconceivable. That particular accusation is utterly barren.
herotypical: [ neutral ; sad ; busy ; collar ] (✝ whether i'm right or wrong)

hah!

[personal profile] herotypical 2013-02-04 12:13 pm (UTC)(link)
[ she relaxes into her seat. ]

Don't mind if I do. I have a while to await, anyway. Take out. It's never actually ready when you want it to be.

...Jilly was -- is -- kind of a long-term friend. More family than friend, if I'm honest. Losing her's been a big blow to the household. If you can even call us that, anymore.

No offence, but I'm not sure grief is exactly what I want from anyone. Not from you; not from myself. She isn't dead. She's...she's so far from dead.

...You may have just made my point for me.

[ she knows that look well enough. and yet, her lips quirk into a half-smile. ]

I believe that treating them as the same thing is mostly predicated on a person's very selfish desire to not be left behind. Jilly went home to a life she's pretty comfortable with. I miss her, but I wouldn't want anything else for her. And that's why it's nothing like biting the literal dust.

[personal profile] herotypical 2013-02-06 10:23 pm (UTC)(link)
[ persistent: ] Ah, well. I've never left anyone behind. [ ... ] I mean, I've never left Luceti. Not for reals. Not outside of experiments, drafts, missions.

Obstinate is my middle name. Well -- actually, it's Anne. Buffy Anne Summers. But...just call me Buffy. None of this Miss Summersing. Only students and trainee-Slayers call me Miss Summers.

[ ... ] I'll be fine, Spock. But thanks for your concern.
herotypical: [ happy ] (✝ happy and glorious)

[personal profile] herotypical 2013-02-08 12:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah. I kinda believe that's the appropriate response, too.

[ she glances at the counter -- still no food. ]

When did the vision kick back in?
