Personal Log #7
[Video]
Greetings and salutations. I believe that it is customary for one to welcome those who are newly arrived into Luceti.
Welcome.
To those who have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask. I can be found regularly at the Battle Dome for those who want to learn to utilize the simulations.
A reminder to everyone that the Kobayashi Maru simulation has been tested and is ready for public use. I will express my thanks to Mister Obi-Wan Kenobi, Miss Ami Mizuno, and Miss Lirael for testing the program for me.
I also find myself requiring assistance for a project that I have agreed to.... though I find myself now at an impasse. I am currently working on a small scale version of projected diburnium-osmium shield technology... with some minor alterations. If anyone is familiar with this or is willing to help, please inform me.
Peace and long life.
[Action]
[Spock found himself once again frustrated by the recent memory lapse... for one who highly values mental discipline, it is... unnerving to find that your mind has been tampered with. However, Spock has long ago come to terms with this place and its disregard for dignity.
In the morning Spock can be found at the Dome by the computer terminals...but in the late afternoon strange, hauntingly beautiful music can be heard coming from House #2's backyard.
The Vulcan was pleased to have completed his Lyre, and was now enjoying an afternoon of practice.
In the evening, Spock actually ventures out to Seventh Heaven and can be found at a solitary table with a cup of tea.
Come and bother Spock at any and all of these locations.]

Re: action.
Miss Summers, it is well to see you. [No pun intended of course...
There was something about Buffy that Spock recognized... The Vulcan tilted his head.]
Are you... emotionally sound? [Vulcan for: how are you?]
no subject
[ actually. her question breaks off prematurely. usually, buffy loves to take a person's words and wind them up. twist them. break them. reform them. but it feels cruel to do that to a vulcan.
so she relents: ] I'm...okay. How about you? [ she waves three fingers in front of his face. ] Are you visual once again? How many fingers am I holding up?
no subject
Your attempts at changing the subject are astounding. [Have a Vulcan lineface.]
no subject
Dunno what you're talking about, Spock. Me? Change the subject? Inconceivable. That particular accusation is utterly barren.
no subject
Though I will not push the issue if you do not wish to speak of the matter. [Spock gestures to the seat beside him...]
Please, join me.
hah!
Don't mind if I do. I have a while to await, anyway. Take out. It's never actually ready when you want it to be.
:3
[Spock decided to 'bite the bullet'.]
I noticed over the journals that you have recently lost a room-mate, correct?

[Spock may have ulterior motives... but it was still important to have all the info.]

[Spock hesitates for a moment... then places a gentle hand on Buffy's shoulder.]
I grieve with thee.

It is interesting though how death can be very much related to someone who is no longer present.

The situation at hand has no comparison to fruit.

I see. You believe that losing someone in this case is not comparable to losing someone through death.
[Spock gives you a look that implies 'your logic is flawed'...]
no subject
I believe that treating them as the same thing is mostly predicated on a person's very selfish desire to not be left behind. Jilly went home to a life she's pretty comfortable with. I miss her, but I wouldn't want anything else for her. And that's why it's nothing like biting the literal dust.

[There was a long pause...]
I was talking about you.

I offered you condolences because you were the one who has been left behind. And you have essentially lost someone.... no matter what state Jilly is in in her own universe.
no subject
[ ... ] I'll be fine, Spock. But thanks for your concern.
no subject
....Buffy.
Very well.
[The Vulcan hesitates...] Thanks is unnecessary... but I believe the appropriate response is... you are welcome.
[Have a small Vulcan smile.]

[ she glances at the counter -- still no food. ]
When did the vision kick back in?
no subject
I must once again thank you for the help that you gave me at that time... it was much appreciated.
Have you suffered many effects from kidnappings?
